Photographer's Note
Dear TE-friends, let me wish you a Merry Christmas with this picture showing the present year Christmas-tree of Miskolc, which was made from 20 tons of firewood. After 6 January, this firewood will be given as a charity for those who need it. Sadly enough, the remote villages of Borsod County do need these charities, despite of the rapid and incredible developments in the county's capital.
In the bg. you can see a part of the old town-hall, which served as the seat of the Law School of Miskolc (a kind of predecessor of the Faculty of Law of Miskolc) before WWII. The statue portrays Istv疣 (Stephen) Sz馗henyi, a great statesmen (if not the greatest) of the XIX. century, who - unlike Kossuth -, argued for firm, but well-considered reforms instead of revolutionary ones (or a revolution, which in the end broke out in 1848).

Hello Gyrgy,
Here is another original kind of Christmas tree. I get a feeling city planners all over the Christian world are thinking how to create something out of the ordinary. This might qualify for the short list, also for serving a good purpose. This is the traditional style of Christmas card, with the illuminations towards the evening creating a fine atmosphere. Personally I like the daylight and human touch in the WS.
I had to check up what I showed for Christmas last year. Another African child. What a coincidence.
Merry Christmas,
Gert

Hello Gyorgy,
A wonderful Christmas photo with a lovely low lighting, which highlights the large Christmas tree and the decorations so well. The town hall makes a good background too. Merry Christmas.

Hi Gyorgy
A simple but a real Christmas Sparkler not moaning about the consumerism! Glad to enjoy the festive colours with graceful architecture has played its role in making this shot comes alive. A pleasing very well exposed shot.
Congrats
PS: "camera simply resets and doesn't remember the date" - sound very strange to me. Just FYI I have tons of images in Raw format in my hard drive taken from 2005 to 2017 all complete with Exif data including DATES in year-month-day, stored in Nikon ViewNX2.
Best regards

Hello Gyorgy,
What an unusual tree. In the main photo I thought it was made out of something metallic; it looked a bit shiny to me. Maybe I just need new glasses! :-) Wonderful composition and exposure, and I like the WS photo that was taken during the day. There I can clearly see that the tree is made out of wood. :-) Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Hi Gyorgy
Lovely photo taken at blue hour and showing festive lights and colours. Intersting to read your note, so many countries suffer from the same predicament - rich capital and much less affluent countryside, even the UK, although it's a completely different "less affluent".
I like the WS too - we can see what the "tree" really looks like, plus it's fabulous example of fascinating "nothing special".
Have a lovely Christmas.

Hello Gyorgy!
I like the idea of not using artificial material, but create a christmas tree from 20 tons of grown wood - and a lot of photons.
A Merry Christmas to you and all of your family!

Hi Gy
now that's a cool Xmas scene. the exposure is spot on my friend. love the darkened areas, with the small highlights of yellow in the nativity scene and the windows. cool blue lighting as well. So interesting to see the tree in the WS, i prefer it here all lit up. Merry Christmas!
cheers
