Photographer's Note

Back from a 2 weeks trip in Iceland in the Western fjords area with a group of friends fans of photography. Our trip obviously began in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, a very pleasant town where I still have pleasure to walk. The weather was cloudy when we arrived but we had a short rift that put a beautiful light on the famous church of Hallgr匇skirkja. I had already photographed this church, so I choosed this original point of view that shows very well the basalt columns that inspired Gu Sam鋹lsson, the architect of this famous church that was built between 1945 and 1986.

Original point of view indeed. A very creative way to show us this well known, beautiful church. I remember well this church from my visit there in 1991, it has a beautiful view from the top. And you got some blue sky for contrast, after all. Lovely shot:) TFS.

What an unusual church!
You have used a viewpoint that gives a very informative photograph of the style and the materials used in its construction, with fine textural details. The whole is very well composed, using the rule of thirds.

La contre plong馥 donne un r駸ultat qui valorise l'effet de hauteur de l'馘ifice, bien ce premier plan et ces "orgues de basaltes", belle luminosit� et fond bleu ciel.

this famous church is one that I can view all day long.
and yes, i've never seen this exact pov before, so its interesting to see.
