Can't miss this one, a photo from Gullbringusysla, Sudurnes

Photographer's Note

It would be difficult to miss this lighthouse from the ocean during the day. I didn't adjust the colors at all on this shot except for a little additional blue in the sky - the yellow and red are as they were in real life.

This lighthouse is on a peninsula just east of Grindavik, in southern Iceland, in the middle of a lava field. Interspersed are the wrecks of several boats who apparently did *not* see the lighthouse (or perhaps the wrecks predate the lighthouse).

The topography made it kind of difficult to get a good view of the lighthouse together with the ocean, which is a little ways over the hill in front of the lighthouse. A lovely spot, which is worth a visit if you are there. This was one of the places I planned to visit when in Iceland.

Hello Roger,
The lighthouse is certainly an eye-catcher and stands out well against the fine blue sky. It is well placed in the frame making for a strong composition. The scene is perfectly exposed and has excellent colours and clarity.

Hello Roger,
you surely can't miss this picture either, it is attractive and remarkable in its elegant simplicity and very unusual and intriguing colours. The ground is almost monochromatic and the faint tones that reach up to the lighthouse add a special quality to this view. The bright lighthouse against the blue backdrop is irresistible, its placement within the frame is perfect. I also like that the sense of scale and orientation are quite perplexing and well combined with the feeling of isolation. Congratulations and thank you!

A lighthouse high on the top of the rock, with a lovely coloured contrast between yellow and red and the grey rocks.

Unless the boat captain is color blind it is hard to miss this lighthouse with very unusual color. Good pov and dof with nice details. Wonderful colors with good saturation. Well done, tfs.
