Iceland has very few wild land mammals : reindeers that were imported from Norway for breeding and went back to wild life, a very few polar bears that derived on icebergs from Greenland (one shot them because they are very hungry and so dangerous for humans when they arrive in Iceland) and most of all the arctic fox, the iconic animal of Iceland. The arctic fox is wild, he lives in remote places of Iceland and so he is very hard to observe and photograph. So I don't need to say how lucky we were to make a few shots of arctic foxes ! But we had to walk a long time to get away from human settlements, we had to lie down hours in the grass, making no noise, putting soil on our clothes to cover our smell not to be detected by the fox. And suddenly we saw him, this beautiful grey arctic fox (he is white in winter). Our efforts really worthed it and it was a fantastic souvenir !

You don't believe me ? You are right ! This photos was among the easiest we made during our trip in Iceland. We decided to have a bath in a natural hot water pot by the farm of Heydalur in the fjord of Mj�ifj�r�ur between ﾍsafj�r�ur and H�lmav�k. And after the bath we met this cute arctif fox that came and bit our shoes and played with us ! Arctic fox is usually a wild animal and you can't get close from him as we did. But this one was probably lost, the owners of the farm feeded him and he stayed around the farm for a few months, playing with all the coming tourists. A unique touristic attraction, isn't it ? So I made no feat to make this shot, but it was a fantastic pleasure to play with this cute animal (but wild one anyway, so we had to be careful).
