Photographer's Note

Fishermen on and below the Galway Dam. River Corrib is just six kilometres from the Lough Corrib to the Atlantic. Again the weather was quite grey so this time I decided to upload black and white version.

Hello Kari,
B&W looks very good here and also makes me think this photo could have been taken 100 years ago. It's a nice view generally of the dam and the rapidly streaming water, but of course the fisherman is the cherry on the cake (whether he likes that or not).

A good one for our weather today when the thermometer in autumn hasn't made 10.
An excellent sharp B&W photo with great contrast and good depp blacks.

Hi Kari,
You encourage me to come back to my Irish archives. I think I may have a lot of photos from Ireland because that was roughly the time when I moved to Ireland and I got a better digital camera as well as better lenses.
I can fully understand the conversion to black and white. In fact I considered to go to Scotland for the long weekend in two weeks but the weather is so changeable I decided to cancel.
If you are in travel you have to take it (the photo) or leave it...
Lovely place, very picturesque. The fisherman decorates it so nicely,

Hello Kari,

B&W worked well here and was well worth considering since the original colours were washed out. Good sharpness and tonal range. The fisherman adds a focal point. Tfs!

This is a nice application of B&W. I am not sure I would be so bold as to go to the middle of the river for fishing, I hope he caught a few.
