Photographer's Note

Poulnabrone portal tomb is placed at the Burren in County Clare. This is the most famous Irish dolmen and
one of the world's best known and most visited dolmens.

It was constructed about 4500 - 5000 years ago (the Neolithic and the beginning of Ireland's Bronze Age).

The name comes from Gaelic "Poul na Brn". This means "The hole of the sorrows" or " The hollow of the Millstone".
