The Hills of Connemara, a photo from Galway, North

Photographer's Note

This was the first shot I posted of Ireland after my trip there 7 years ago. Let's just say I didn't do much post-processing on the old one. I generally don't do this level of PP, but this photo needed it. I used several adjustment brushes to lighten the bush at left and I upped the shadows in Lightroom to decrease the contrast somewhat.

This is a lovely lake near Kylemore Abbey in the Connemara region of County Galway. One of the loveliest spots we visited on that trip.

hello Clark ,
We can see here perfectly how we can improve our pictures . Of course , the landscape is wonderful , the composition was excellent , but as we can see here , a good PP gives more impact and attractivity to the scene .

this capture is a contradiction in itself:
a still life with a lot of movement on water surface and skies.
Very irish, and well processed.

The beauty of the landscape and the contrast of the light with the shadows are the strengths of this photo.
The work that was done to highlight weaknesses, has very good effect.
