Photographer's Note

Ireland has rich music culture and live music is available especially on weekends and on many places every night. His name is Ian McGovern and he played at The Norseman Pub which claims to be the oldest pub in Temple Bar area. The premises was first licenced in 1696.

Hello Kari,
In 1968 The Dubliners were the great stars of the Irish pub music scene. I never heard them live but everyone else sang their songs, of which I especially remember "Whiskey in the Jar". I wouldn't be surprised if Ian McGovern also sang it. It's a good close view with an interesting street atmosphere outside the windows. Interior and exterior are both well exposed.

Hi Kari,
Very well captured mood of the evening with the hand of the musician clearly moving. I like also the presence of the people behind the windows. The light is bright enough to make them visible inside.
Yes I remember taking guests from abroad for the live music in the Temple Bar area,

I did enjoy plenty of Irish music on my visit although I only walked through the Temple Bar area during the day - very quiet it was. A good portrait of the performer.

A very good portrait of the musician. You handled the light and sharpness really well and this looks even better in front of the more blurry view of the people outside.
