Photographer's Note

Cortona
The central area of Cortona is divided, currently, into two squares, Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Signorelli (in the photo), inserted between a frame of medieval public and private buildings, with southern limits the Palazzo Comunale and northern limit the area called Croce del Travaglio, until the thirteenth century it was a single space created where the forum of the Etruscan-Roman city stood, from which the roads that formed the cardo and the decuman departed in an orthogonal direction.
