Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I cannot imagine that we will be travelling abroad in the near future so I thought I would revisit places that we had really enjoyed exploring; so what could be better than Florence!
If I remember rightly, I took this photograph from the Boboli Gardens, a fine example of an Italian Garden.
In the distance, the terracotta roofs of the city give a warm, friendly appearance, whilst the two elevated buildings, along with the foreground tree, create a trio of features. The nearest tower is that of the Palazzo Vecchio and in the background the recognisable shape of the Duomo.
These are both excellent buildings to visit and photograph, the Palazzo Vecchio resting on top of the ancient theatre of the Roman colony of Florentia (dating back to the first century A.D.), whose ruins can be admired in the underground level, and the Duomo a most beautiful building to photograph, though I was disappointed with it internally.
Have a good day, Bev :-)

Hi Bev,waiting for new trips, it is certainly nice to go and relive the memories we have in the archive. Great view of Florence from the Boboli Gardens, you were there 10 years ago, and I 52 ... ahahaha ... I can't resist giving you a WS with my memory, I'm the youngest child, year 1969 .... good weekend and congratulations, Luciano.

Hello Bev,
In times like these it's great to have well stocked archives to dig through. Who could ever get tired of beautiful views from Florence? It's not just the view of the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio that makes this photo enjoyable. You used one tree well as a frame and placed the other tree and the tower perfectly on thirds. The light is wonderful too.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Bev
I loved Florence but wish I had've climbed up the stairs to the lookout observation deck of the bg tower. But Michelangelo Lookout also offers a tremendous view of the city as depicted here. Good colour and sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Bev,
The trees are helping to frame the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. The light is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have anice day.

Two famous monuments in Firenze seen through the trees from a high POV, Beverley.
The WS photo was taken from a different place I guess, still an intriguing shot from long ago.
We almost accidently met...on that day.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hi Bev,
Lovely view over these trees to the classic city. You placed the tree trunk perfectly to divide this frame. It's more than 20 year since my visit to Florence but I remember I liked these vistas more than the town itself.

Hello Beverley,
A beautiful view of Florence with its famous dome and tower both in the middle, standing out nicely from the hills in the distance. The trees add an attractive foreground as well.

Dear Beverley,
You provided us with a beautiful view of this very typical view of the most iconic building of Florence. I like how the tree in the fg. divides the photo according to the rule of thirds, while the tower of the town hall dominates the bg.
Have a nice WE!
Gy.

Hello Beverley,
Most of the photos that provide an overview of Firenze are taken in Piazzale Michelangelo. Just like the photo of Luciano in the WS.
However, you found another place that offered an equally beautiful panorama.
There you even had the opportunity to frame your photo between some trees.
Beautiful with the combination of the greenery and the red roofs and domes.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev
I think I've taken an almost identical photo to this one from the gardens. A well composed look over the city between framing trees.
And re the Shetlands series - a good series once you get used to the accents which I didn't get to hear much on my just 1 hour visit there when we flew into Scotland via the back door from Bergen in Norway.
cheers

Hi Bev.
Wonderful view of the city of Florence, highlighting two of its emblems the tower of the Palazzo Vecchio and the dome of the Cathedral, a great contrast to the WS photo, in the year 69 the trees were not so overgrown and the houses could be seen at banks of the Arno
Excellent POV, with very good clarity, color and sharpness to enjoy the details.
Very good work. I like
Enjoy a happy Sunday and a better start to the week.
Very best regards.
Luis.
PS.- All the photos that I will upload, in this new series that I dedicate to Madrid, will be accompanied by others in the Workshop.

bev
a special view in BG with the famous buildings and the tree at side. I liked the WS too. the older boy, maybe your brother, was bored.
I remember the garden of WS, it was the same where I lost the way and walked around the place for many time and when I reached it it was almost night.
take care

Hi Bev,
yes travel becomes a luxury these days. I must admit that UK has one of the most confusing systems among those I read about.
In spite of it I managed not only Madeira but also Poland this year.
We tried to explore England as well last weekend but the prices of hotels became crazy high with the weather not optimal.
Florence is probably on the top of the towns I would like to visit and now it became almost impossible.
This is an iconic view with stunning panorama.
Well framed between the two trees.
Something to dream about,
M
