Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I struggled to decide which photograph to post as the main one today, but with the others in the workshops, you will have a chance to choose your own favourite.
I wanted to show just how much art there is taking place and on show in Florence, even without the amazing exhibitions, and these are all for free.
This photograph shows an artist who was doing portraits of willing tourists. He was talented; what a fine memento of your time in Florence.
My first workshop shows a whole range of different artistic styles, whatever you prefer.
My second shows a street artist, working with chalks. He was quick and talented but ... his art was very ephemeral!
Just looking at these photographs has rekindled moods and revived my love of exploring Florence, Bev :-)

Hello Bev
This shot reminds me of artists on the Charles Bridge in Prague, who also did on site portraits and were extremely talented, too. Good daily life scene focusing on the tourists rather than the city sights. Tfs!

Difficult choice, Beverley, all three pictures well captured on the streets of Firenze at time when tourists were free to walk around - not a scene you would expect nowadays with the pandemic restrictions, again.
The face expression of the painter on the main photo were first to notice.
Good afternoon,

Hi Bev
A really interesting shot. I like the look of utter concentration on the artists face and also the antics of those in the background. WS also very good.

Hello Bev,
Such artists are fun to watch, and they are often quite talented in a way, but I would still prefer a visit to the Uffizi Galley. I agree with your choice of main photo. Even though we don't see the actual painting, it's just as interesting to study the artist's concentrated face and imagine what the result will be. The crowd in the background gives us an idea of the atmosphere.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
You have captured well the concentration of the artist. The point of view is showing the details of his physionomy. The colors and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice day.

Hello Beverley, artists at work always make an interesting subject for photography.
An excellent sharp shot of the artist with such a look of concentration on his face, and a good slightly out of focus background with all the people milling round, and setting the scene.
The pavement artist looks particularly skilled; I always think that it is a shame that these pieces are so fleeting, and disappear so quickly.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Bev,3 photos showing the activities that survived thanks to the tourists and who suffered greatly from the pandemic. Good memories of rich times, which we hope will return soon, but now it is still too risky to organize a trip abroad ... thanks for these good Italian memories! Have a nice Sunday,Luciano

Hello Beverley,
In the first WS we see that there are works of art for everyone's liking. The second picture shows us the art of the pavement artist. Sometimes I find it incredible how these artists can create depth and illusion in their works.
There is still room for a portraitist or caricaturist on the busy street or square in your main upload. I don't think I would have the patience to pose there myself although these artists work very quickly. For many passers-by it becomes a short but pleasant pastime to study the works in progress and also the faces of the people being drawn. You have captured the atmosphere and the hustle and bustle very well here.
Best regards, Paul

bev
a nice main post with the interaction between the artist and the model.I usually use only portraits by cellphone while painting. I am not a big artist, but I learned by myself and I am improving my tasks with portraits.
I liked the artist and its work in the ground too.
take care

Hello Bev,
My liking will be the WS2. I can see the artist busy drawing two amazing 'Portraits' on the pavement.
I wonder , all this hard-work and full concentration to draw such a wonderful painting ... it was just 'ephemeral'.
I always like to have a portrait painted by this street artist ... never have done till now. Maybe I don't like to sit all day , looking 'stiff' :-)
Everywhere I see in Florence, it's all 'Art-mazing'.
Thanks for sharing this art city.
Loong
