Photographer's Note
No tourists. Just a Venetian going somewhere. Winter light, winter mood.A shot that is dear to me as it captures the Human Condition in a bitter-sweet way.
Image scanned from old B&W film.

Hi Klaudio, great shot. Placement of the man is good, at the end of the path and sillouted by the strong misty light. It would work without the tell tale Venetian elements, the brigde and canal, but they are a nice addition too. cheers, Steve

Klaudio,
Human condition in a bitter sweet way...Bitter for some sweet for others. I like it. Composition is probably the best you could get of this scene. Seeing your photographic dexterity from two years before my birth humbles me :)
thanks for sharing

Hi Klaudio,
great B&W shot of one of the side canals in this stunning city. well framed and composed, slightly over exposed on the rihgt hand side but saying that i think it adds to the atmosphere of the shot, well done chris

The only area of interest for me would be the perspective...the play of light and shadow in the limited area in the frame..the position of the subject...
i think everything is in accordance to make a good image...simple yet appealing

Beautifully done Klaudio. I hope you have a series of these marvellous B&W's on your wall at home. This is just such a timeless shot. You waited until he was in the sunlight where he was well positioned in the frame as well. It also suits the vertical format. This is going to my favourites.

Hi Klaudio,
Great atmosphere on this timeless view, this could be as well from 1870s! No signs of mass tourism, although that migh be just around the corner!
B&W fits well for such backlit scene.

Hello Klaudio,
Forgetting about the canal and the architecture, this could have been a classical photo by one of the great masters from London or Paris from a lot further back than 1978. Great light and greytones and a very strong atmosphere.

Hi Klaudio, this thirty-years-old photo shows that Venice is and will be a bitter-sweet but wonderful city forever, or as long as it lasts, if it doesn't sink away. Very nice silhouette and light and shadow. I also like the B&W reflections on the water.TFS.

Woaw! So good it hurts!
Exposure perfect, a framing that tells a story, a light to die for... I am just imagining it printed big on matte paper...

Hello Klaudio
This is an amazing B&W shot, I love the contrast between light and dark and the mans shadow on the pavement as he strolls to who knows where. A well composed picture with great atmosphere.
Cheers

Oh yeah, locals in such places looks special - like they are living daily in the place where everyone pays a lot of money and efforts to come for a couple of days.
Very good photo, with a certain mood in it.

Hello Klaudio
Appreciate this picture...shorn of the colours and in stark B&W, its a feel of loneliness that your picture transmits. The perspective has been well created of course, and the vertical frame suits this well...and best of all, I think the man is in a perfect position

Hello Claudio, althoug there is a bit of overexposure on the left upper corner of the picture i realy like the end result. The athmosphere is very serene and i like the strong vertical lines.
Best regards
