Nei pressi di Castiglione di Sicilia si trova la Cuba di Santa Domenica, forse la pi� importante presente in Sicilia, monumento nazionale dal 1909.
La cuba � una cappella paleocristiana o bizantina presente in Sicilia, dove le cube vennero erette da monaci basiliani a partire dal VII secolo.

Near Castiglione di Sicilia is the Cuba of Santa Domenica, perhaps the most important in Sicily, a national monument since 1909.
The cuba is an early Christian or Byzantine chapel in Sicily, where the cubes were erected by Basilian monks from the seventh century.

Hello Maurizio,
Excellent capture of this ancient chapel. I like the off-centre framing that sets it context and allows us a glimpse of its surroundings. The image is nicely illuminated and has well rendered colours and lots of beautiful textural detail.

Hello Maurizio,

This is a religious building with a very distinctive style, which is possible to observe, despite its age and dilapidation. You have captured the details with fine clarity so that we can even discern the courses of stones, the dome and the fine arches over the doorways.
The building is nicely set off-centre with views of the location in the r/h space.

Hello Maurizio,
A great landcape at right and the remains of the old church look beautiful as well. The light was ideal and made sure the details are seen perfectly. The composition is also very well-balanced.

Even in partial ruin, this ancient chapel still looks magnificent. Good sharpness and well framed and composed. The repetitive patterns on the closed gates look interesting. Tfs!
