Photographer's Note
This could have been a normal scene in the time of coronavirus, but the photo was taken 5 months ago, when the epidemic had not yet exploded and you could ride a bike anywhere. But it is a natural situation in Naples, one of the cities with the highest number of thefts in the world, this family has found an original solution to not get their children's bicycles stolen. A photo to smile a little, the home stay still seems long and the results are slow to come.

Hello Luciano,
A funny photo. I suppose they had washed the bicycles carefully before hanging them to dry. :-)
Best regards. I hope you are still well.

Ciao caro Luciano,
Yes, our friend Lisa (delpeoples) has often told me that Naples is renowned for its high rate of thefts, so much so that she would never walk its streets with an expensive camera. So, hanging your possessions high above the street - what a novel way of keeping your bikes safe! :)
A brilliant photograph, very well seen and taken - and a fine note to accompany it!
Brilliant!
You take care in these troubled times.
Kindest Regards,
John.
P.S. I worry about people who, like yourself, work in the catering business. I presume that you have had to close your bar and so will be suffering from the "lockdown" more severely than most of us. Above all, please stay safe.

Hello Luciano, I hope that the balcony is strong enough to hold everything that it carries!
We can honestly say that we have never seen bicycles suspended in this way before.
An interesting close up from Naples.
I hope that you are well? Keep safe, we just have to be patient.
Kind regards, Jean.

a funny image of the high concentration of clothes, bikes etc asking for sun and protection in the small balcony. I can imagine how difficult is to stay inside at this moment where ever the balcony is full of things.
few minutes ago the priest passed by car blessing the branches we left in our gates..
take care

Hello Luciano,
A very amusing picture!
It is not always easy to find a suitable place for your bicycle when you live in an apartment in the city and here these children's bikes are always close at hand.
We have received slightly positive news about Italy. Let's hope the situation improves from now on.
Best regards, Paul

Luciano, nice house details captured in Naples. The small balcony serves to make the clothes dry but also to keep the children's cycles safe, away from the thieves. Excellent idea. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Luciano,
It really seems that the people who live their take the isolation very seriously and decided to put everything they have as close to them as possible, so even their children's bicycles. Let's hope that not only the virus isolation won't be necessary anymore soon, but that there will also be a solution to their possessions getting stolen. Well spotted.

hello dear Luciano,
Naples is famous for the thieves, fortunately, I haven't been robbed there :). I suppose that the people washed the kid bikes and treated them like the laundry. Interesting view anyway. Well noticed.
Yesterday the number of new cases and deaths in Italy was lower, let's hope it is a sign for the better. Take care

Buongiorno Luciano,
Most times I do not like to write about hanging laundry and look at people's private places - but the time is really different and we find less pictures posted on TE - so I will make an exception.
Blue and white in fine contrast, and the "hanged" bicycles is something we can see many places where apartments are relatively small.
Still, must say its a fine photo in the outcome.
Arrivederci,
Ike

Ciao Caro Luciano,
WE cannot tell how high this is above ground level but, I suspect, from your notes about the safety of the bicycles, that it is quite high!
It is a very original answer to a problem and offered you an amusing and very well composed photograph.
Are the results of dealing with this terrible virus beginning to be a little more positive in Italy?
I hope you are still well and safe,
Bev :-)

Bonsoir Luciano,
Napoli also has some of the worst drivers in Italy as can be seen in this youtube video. Italy is still my favourite country in Europe. A good daily life scene of the secured bikes. Tfs.

Hi Luciano.
A very curious and original photo, the clothes hanging are something that is usually seen quite a lot and I like this kind of photos, the bikes hanging on the balcony is already a little more unusual, also the two air conditioners on top of each other.
A magnificent range of colors, in some tones, very attractive.
Good management of light and sharpness.
Very well done. I love.
Have a great day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Ciao Luciano,
this is a washing day and a bike parking/storage in one.
It is amazing how well people are able to adapt to new circumstances. This is certainly a great example of how people are creative in using the available space they have. Every inch perfectly used.
Very well seen and captured,

Hi Luciano
interesting to hear that Naples has one of the highest theft rates in the World. Easy to see why people put their bikes up like this then :) This is a new one for me, we often see laundry hanging, but not bikes :) Fun post for today. Stay safe! cheers

Hello Luciano,
Though it was not taken nowadays, it could serve as a quarantine reportage. It is sensational how many thing they could store on such a small balcony.

Hello Luciano,
A wonderful observation of everyday life in Naples.
Clearly an ingenious family lives here who has thought carefully about how to use the small space optimally.
The result is also aesthetically pleasing.
Excellent work
