Mortella
The Lady Walton Garden Museum, commonly known as La Mortella, is a garden created by Susana Walton, wife of the English composer William, in Forio, in the western part of the island of Ischia. The couple moved to Forio d棚schia immediately after the Second World War, creating a wonderful garden from scratch. Today there is a foundation that manages La Mortella by organizing concerts and artistic programs within the garden; inside the garden it is also possible to visit the museum with the manuscripts of Walton's scores and the puppet theater by Lele Luzzati.
Today La Mortella is composed of two profoundly different parts: The Valley designed by Russell Page, characterized by a subtropical climate, humid and protected from the wind, and the Collina or upper garden, entirely conceived and developed by Lady Walton, with sunny and beaten areas from the wind and characterized by vegetation from the Mediterranean areas. Since 1990 the garden has been open to the public.

Hello Silvio,
This looks like a wild, exotic tropical forest in Italy. It's a magnificent park and the photo is perfectly sharp. The inclusion of a few persons makes the photo even more interesting.

A very nice view, which is really well composed and offers a well-balanced view of these peaceful gardens. The fountain is well included as well, just as the other visitors at left.

You have captured these superb gardens very well. Your image with people in it shows its scale. Colour and lighting very good.
We visited some years ago at a time when Lady Walton was often in the gardens. She even visited the cafe when we were there.

What a lush garden and with the fountain. Amazing plantsd, palms, ferns and water lilies. I would be happy to make a walk there. Fantastic picture.

This looks so very exotic! I suppose the climate of the south Italy is great for growing anything.
Nice elements like the fountain and the rocky outcrop. People seem to enjoy it.
