Photographer's Note
When the ancient Egyptians built their magnificent temples like in Karnak there were settlements in Europe.
In prehistoric times Lake Ohrid was home to a settlement of pile dwellers who lived literally on top of the water, on a platform supported by up to 10,000 wooden piles anchored to the lake bed. The remains of the settlement were discovered at this spot and were gradually excavated by an underwater team between 1997 and 2005; the museum is an elaborate reconstruction of the settlement as archaeologists think it would have looked between 1200 and 600 BC.
The slightly theatrical name Bay of Bones is a nod to the many animal remains and fragmented vessels that have been found here.

It happens quite often that I visit an interesting place but later do not show any pictures. Paul reminded me today that I was there too. In my picture, the view from the side of the water.
The best way to go there is by boat (see Workshop). The views on the way are spectacular.
Another view in Workshop.

Hello Malgo,
I am once again today reminded of a place I had never heard of when I was in this area 2009, probably because this museum was not opened when my guide book was printed the same year. These photos are nice and colourful and it looks like a fairly interesting place, although i can easily live without having seen it. (I will never forgive myself for not seeing the Golden Temple when I was in Amritsar.)
But just one small comment: Most of your note is obviously borrowed from another source, so why didn't you give credit to it? According to the TOS you should. It's so easy to write "Source: Wikipedia", or something like that.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo,
I appreciate the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing the details of the museum. The light is enhancing the colors. Well done, taken the same year a few months later to Paul's photos. Have a nice day.

Hello Malgo,
Thank you for the dedication! So you forgot to show a photo of the Bay of Bones. I forgot my complete set of North Macedonia when I came back home :) Presumably it was very busy at work at the time and I still had to finish another series.
Beautiful view seen from the lake.
WS1 looks great. I guess that's your boat we see.
I went by bus and was the only one who got off at that stop. If I remember well there were no other visitors.
Your main picture shows already some autumn colours in the foliage.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Malgo,
Three excellent photographs to consolidate our understanding of your notes.
What an amazing place and what an amazing discovery!
We have often underestimated the lives and the achievements of our ancient ancestors, apart from the Egyptians.
Thank you for sharing these,
Bev :-)

Pozdrav.
Kao ucenik bio sam na eskurziju na Ohridskom jezeru, ziveo sam u Kumanovu, ostalo mi je u lepom secanji.
Lep pogled, interesantan i dobar tekst ...
Lepo selo na vodi, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, konatrtsom i perspektivom.
Dobar rad sa lepim fotografijama u radionici.
Lepo secanje.
Kod mene se vratio sneg, duva vetar i pada sneg.
Zelim vam lep i uspesan dan, sve najbolje.

Hello Malgo,
the wooden stilts houses divided the scene from the lake in beautiful colors to the forest just beyond and mountain seen on the far backdrop.
Picture is sharp and distinct contrast.

Hello Malgo,
This is a fantastic reconstruction. I like the reflections from the water. LOL, I was about to say "I did not realize Egypt could be so green," and I realized we had changed countries.
Regards,
MT
