前hrid - Reflection of the Robev Family House
Recently, Luciano and Lars showed buildings reflected in car windows (in Bergamo and Munich, respectively).
Well, here's another reflection seen in Ohrid.
The back window of a car reflects the famous and historic building the Robev Family house.
(On some sites it痴 called the Robevi Family House)
In the WS also a photo of the upper part of the house without reflection.
Information from: http://muzejohrid.mk/en/house-of-robev-family :
In 1825 the brothers Robev destroyed an old house to the foundations and built a new one on the same spot.
Behind the new house they erected a stone warehouse.
The building of the house, with ground floor and two floors was completed in 1827.
The Robev family lived in that house until January 1861, when it was burned by the notorious villain from Ohrid, Husref-Bey.
Two years after the fire, from 1861 to 1863, the current Robev house was rebuilt, the left half for Konstantin Robev and the right one for Anastas Robev.
The House of the Robev Family (actually dual-brotherly house building) according its size and architectural expression, presents a kind of status symbol for the family, whose trade relations led from Istanbul to Vienna, Trieste and Leipzig.
The Robev family lived in the house until 1900.
After 1900 the house has had various destinations, such as a store for agricultural products, a house for the Serbian army that caused a lot of damage in it, the house of the National Museum of Ohrid,
Between 1973 and 1990 the National Museum and the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments took care of its reconstruction.
In 1996, the House of the Robev Family was put again under protection of the Law on Protection of Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Macedonia as a valuable cultural and historical built heritage with the distinctive features of the old Ohrid architecture from the 19th century.

Good evening Paul,
You had a fairly clean car rear window and it parkred right on good spot for the reflection.
As we see on the WS, architecture was elaborated by your glass mirror POV.
Good evening,
Ike

Hello Paul,
I don't remember if I remember this house, and I know for sure I don't recognize the car. It could be a promotional argument that you can squeeze an entire building into the trunk. It's an amusing photo and a well spotted opportunity. The WS shows us the building in a more proper way. I still don't remember it, but I have a feeling there were quite many buildings in Ohrid of that style.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo Paul,

Mooi gedaan Paul, bedankt
Groeten uit Oost-Vlaanderen,
John

Hi Paul, obviously I like your photo very much, I also love to take this kind of photo as you wrote in the notes. An excellent way to show this historic building in a modern way that has had a long history and many intended uses such as the church you had shown recently, the WS with the classic photo is very useful to better understand. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Bonsoir Paul,
Vous avez eu une bonne d'utiliser la fen黎re de l'auto pour capture les reflets. La prise de vue permet de voir les d騁ails des reflets de l'immeuble. L'image est claire et nette. Bonne soir馥.

Hi Paul
Well-seen, nice trick. But here it's a bit different than the images of buildings reflected in car windows I've seen before. It's just incredibly 3D, as if the building was there, inside the vehicle, if you opened the car door, you could touch it!
Thanks for the WS images also - good idea to crop the cars parked at the bottom, as you say, they are only good for reflections! ;-)
Best wishes
Kasia

Hi Paul,
This is the approach which people call "if life gives you lemons, make a lemonade". Meaning you could not avoid cars so you used them to aid your creativity.
Nice unexpectes series of photos.
It is probably freshly restored so it would be hard to guess whether it is old or new structure.
Very well done,
M

Hello Paul
Interesting reflections but in fact, I prefer the view of the house as it is. I checked on the map and looked at the photos that I went by but it didn't make an impression on me, I didn't take any photos of it. I liked Ohrid very much, even after Berat and Gjirocaster in Albania. maybe because I have read about Ohrid in my youth and it was my dream to see it for more than 40 years. And I was not disappointed.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Paul
A beautiful shot of the reflection of this old house in the car window. Clarity and exposure are well done. Picture number one of the workshop shows the location of the house well.

Hello Paul,
This reflection is almost as clear as the unreflected example. Well seen and well photographed ... from different angles.
I like very much the clarity of the photograph, with a good dof, to give the car window a sense of place within the town.
It is a very modern looking building, attractive and well maintained, though its previous uses seemed like sacrilege!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
