Postcard from Kotor
Kotor is a coastal town in Montenegro. It is located in a secluded part of the Gulf of Kotor.

The old Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period. It is located on the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Some have called it the southern-most fjord in Europe, but it is a ria, a submerged river canyon. Together with the nearly overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovćen, Kotor and its surrounding area form an impressive and picturesque Mediterranean landscape.

Witaj Piotr, excellent view of the famous city and its port with big boats, very well captured with a great pov in this very good and beautiful photo. Hello Piotr,
What a great vantage point which offers such an amazing view of the city and all its many orange roofs. The water makes a great background too with these huge ships which are bigger than any of the buildings in the town.

Czesc Piotr,
nie wiem czy najpierw podziwiac tez zdjecia ktore sa podobne do moich czy tez miejsca ktorych nie mialem okazji zobaczyc. To zdjecie musialem zobaczyc z ciekawosci jak ci poszlo.
Miales troche inny rodzaj swiatla niz ja, troche wiecej chmur i widac niektore fragmenty w sloncu inne w cieniu. Ciekawe ze masz dwa duze statki, ktore zreszta doslownie robia straszna zadyme... Tutaj wydaje sie ze nie wyszedles wyzej niz ja ale moze to sie jeszcze okaze na kolejnych zdjeciach...
Wspaniale miejsce, kazdy chcialby je miec w swojej kolekcji :)

Hello Piotr,
This is far too good to be called a postcard. It is also better than most photos I have seen on TE from more or less the same place. I like how you captured the old town of Kotor as a perfect triangle with a nice green frame below and the bay with the cruise ships above. It's a fascinating view of the old buildings turned in any direction, and each one with a red brick roof. It's a colourful and very interesting photo.

cześć Piotrze, rzeczywiście bardzo podobne do zdjęcia Mariusza, u Ciebie trochę więcej zielonego dołu. Wysiłek, żeby się wdrapać na gę się opłacił, widok jest fantastyczny. Atrakcyjny ten trkąt czerwonych dach. Nie lubię takich dużych statk, choc z daleko to jeszcze nie wyglądają tak źle.

You have given us some excellent, descriptive notes to accompany this amazing view of Kotor. What a wonderful aspect you chose for it allows you to capture the whole context of the 'triangular' location of the town and its relationship with the sea. It is almost like a shot from an aeroplane though this is closer and more detailed.

Spectacular point of view on the city with its myriad of red roofs. The cruise ships provide further interest and a sense of dynamism. The framing trees in the foreground make a lovely contrast with those red roofs.

Witaj Piotr,

A magnificent view of Kotor from the lookout. Good sharpness and I see you were unlucky with the cruise ships. The type of people that use them tend to be arrogant and self centred. I nearly got run over in the adjacent carpark by someone who had hired a car to sightsee around the old town. Why they need a car to walk 2-3 km I don't know. Locals don't care much for them either as they tend not to spend as everything is included in the price of the cruise. Tfs.

Interesantan pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...

its interesting to see the clear division between the new town and the old town. the Old town is pretty much set into its own little Triangle. I wonder what it must be like to walk around those streets. do you have any photos from there?? this is a wonderful view point with the cruise ships and mountains, love the strong color contrasts and set up.

A wonderful view of the picturesque town, the bay of Kotor and the mountains rising up at the other side of the water.
The triangle shape of Kotor is remarkable.
Nice red-green contrast on the foreground.
I didn't know that such a large ships were able to enter the bay.
