Photographer's Note
Fifth picture of a new serie - Winter on the Veluwe - But doesn't it look a little - if you think there is no ice on the water :o) - like an African landscape?
We have set our caravan on a lovely nature campground and we are planning to go there twice a month till April 18th. So I hope to make a serie to present you this wonderful part of Holland.
From Web - European Nature:
The Veluwe region offers its visitors a great deal when it comes to nature. In addition to offering peace and space, the landscape is unique and varied. Open land alternates with magnificent woodlands, ridges, lakes and hills.

The Veluwe is one of the places where you still can see the beauty of the rough land. Not many places left in Holland to see such beauty. You captured it very well, with great compo....good shot.!!!

Bonjour Viviane,

It does have a strange almost Africa thing to it. The light is a bit too flat for my tastes, and I wish you had either 1/3 or 2/3 water (I think 1/3 would be best) instead of what we see here, which is like half water, half the rest... but it's a solid shot. Good job. Maybe you kept the large amount of water because of the reflection... i don't think the reflection is worth it.

Bonjour Viviane,
Vraiment, on s'y croirait...

Bon dimanche.
Amiti駸.

This certainly does look like the plains and a water hole scene from Africa. I've never been there, but seen pictures on the television documentary shows. The composition is good and the colours so nice and strong. Beautiful view Viviane.

Bonsoir Viviane.

Hi Viviane,
Africa came to my mind without reading your note.
Add a few hippos to water and a vulture to the tree...
Nice composition with simple matching colours.
I didn't notice the ice.

Definitely an African savanna, Viviane, or should I say Afrikaan? Anyhow it's a beautiful capture of a Dutch wilderness, which I understand is sparse in Holland. To be able to put "a home away from home" in such surroundings and go there now and then must be great (and I know how much you love your camp life). A great composition with different layers and the naked (but beautiful) tree to break them. Very well done!

Hi Viviane,
Very unusual shot of Netherlands.
I used to see windmills, bikes or something like this.
And this lonely tree in the water looks very special.
Exellent composition.
