Photographer's Note
31 of December 2006, around 8 pm. Already some time ago, but good to look back.... And since it is my first contribution in 2007, aI found I was allowed!
Not the picture showing the Netherlands, but I will tell you something about it. At New Year's Eve there was a lot of wind, so not really the best time to have firework. But of course, you buy firework to light it at New Year's Eve. Especially when you are a little boy you buy a lot (when you get older you say you buy too much), so you have to start early on the evening, otherwise you have to go on all night. And of course you are excited and absorbed, so you want to start as soon as possible. So this picture was taken around 8 pm, when a boy from the neigbourhood already started to light his fireworks. Of course he kept the right distance ;). All went ok, just some visual effects of the fire sparkling around, but showing how much the boy was on fire!

I like it. Good colours. I don't mind that the person is blurry - just adds to the action. And I like how his frame is cut into by the sparks. However, I think that you should have gone for a much tighter crop. The background does not really contribute with anything IMO. Nevertheles, interesting pic.
