Today I went cycling in the Netherlands 10 km from my house saw this beautifully restored building with a history
Unfortunately, another rainy day, so not perfect for taking pictures
But I hope the result can be seen

Kruisdijkschans NETHERLANDS between Aardenburg and Sluis
The Kruisdijkschans was built in 1640, during the Eighty Years' War, as one of the many defenses in that region. After this war came to an end with the Peace of Munster, the Kruisdijkschans was no longer important from a military point of view. Neglect followed. In 1762 it came into the possession of the Hennequin family. They converted it into a country house. It remained in use as such for a hundred years. Around 1920 it became a farm. The house has been preserved. However, it fell into disrepair. Thanks in part to the National Postcode Lottery, Het Zeeuwse Landschap foundation has been able to acquire this special place and restore it to its former glory.

I hope you like it
