Photographer's Note
Just as the title 'Geisha with a Local Touch'.
Back to the Blind Walls Gallery in Breda. There are everwhere in the city.
Since easing of lockdown restrictions, life has become a bit 'normal'.
Yeah, what's normal ?
Well, at least the streets come back to life :-)
OK , the main picture.
This Geisha mural named 'Kokesh' on the wall is painted by Fin Dac, in 2015.
I never knew that these colours red and white are referring to our city of Breda.
A beautiful small square b/g , outdoor terrace to enjoy the liveliness of the square itself.
As the WS1.
Is called 'Brave as a Lion' by Zenk One, in 2016.
In-short, this mural is a tribute to Godevaert Montens, mayor of Breda during the Dutch War of Independence.
The mayor is known for his supposed heroic actions in 1581.
I've read an article about the owner of this house's wall. He said that he is so proud of it.
Lastly, the WS2.
In the picture f/g, 'The Nightlife of Breda' by Anti-Held, in 2015.
As you can see, there are three more murals further in this narrow alley.
All of them, are supposed to reflect on the nightlife and the water of the harbour b/g.
Sometimes I wonder ... are they 'Art' or 'Graffiti' ? Maybe, both :-)
Thanks for your time.

Hello Loong,
It's nice to see you posting again. These three photos show interesting paintings found on walls in Breda. It's difficult to make such pictures look interesting as photos, which requires making your own contributions. In this case you did what could possibly be asked for by including views of the streets and surrounding buildings describing the environment. Especially in the main photo I like the contrast between the Geisha on the dark wall and the "normal", sunny Dutch street. The other photos are taken according to the same principle as far as was possible. At least the main photo and WS #1 definitely show art, WS #2 maybe hmmm...
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Loong,
You have three nice pictures posted, but your main picture I find the most beautiful.
An excellent composition, very sharp and clear presentation.
I came regular in Breda, years ago.
Colours are soft and pleasant.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

hello Loong,
Like you, sometimes I find the gradation between art and graffiti difficult to establish. These murals certainly class as street art for me.
You have cropped the geisha to an excellent point that she fills the f/g and appears to looking straight into the eyes of the viewers! Excellent connection!
The w/s are also very well handled, clear, colourful and with good compositions.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Loong, an excellent point of view/composition where the Geisha dominates the scene and looks straight at us; we are compelled to look into her eyes!
Good inclusion of the setting where we see the street beyond. One person walking towards you.
The w/s shot with the lion is another amazing piece of artwork.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

A fine series of shots from Breda, Loong. That's not far from where I live and a town I like, though it obviously has been a while since we've visited it. Dutch people, on the other hand, have been flooding my city recently (a bit too much).
I like the focus on the street art, great topic, great note & a fine trio of pictures. Thanks a lot!

Hello Loong,
A very remarkable mural in the WS where the head of the lion is shown lifelike, as if it were a photograph surrounded by painted parts.
A bit the same for the geisha in your main picture.
I really like the view of her together with the buildings of the Dutch city, the empty terrace and the young woman in the street.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Loong,
Very impressive view of this geisha painting. Even though the wall is in angle she seems to look directly at you. Red combined with different shades of grey is quite efficient combination. Background square looks very nice too.

Hi Loong, let's say that in fact it is a middle way between art and graffiti, but they are works of great depth and quality as I can see in the 3 different and original perspectives, the quality is always excellent and at first photo it is truly magical, with the geisha which seems to open a door to the square. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Loong,
Lovely series of photos. Here the geisha contrasts with the real life scene just behind her. The light was nice.
I recently heard about Breda but in a different context. Something was being manufactured there.
Very well seen and captured

Hello Loong,
A very nice impression from the street of Breda, I like the contrast between the large mural and the small houses and quiet street, which look good in this bright winter light.

Hello foxy,
Strange to see Geisha in the Dutch street. She has an impressive look. Interesting colours, grey and red. The square also looks cosy.
Best regards MAlgo
