Photographer's Note

's Hertogenbosch or Den Bosch, is an enjoyble city in the north of Brabant. Since the division of the Low Countries in the 16th and 17th century, it lies in the south of the Netherlands. The heavy fortifications around the old city date from the 16th century civil war that was ended by splitting up both Brabant and the Netherlands.

With two very good museums (in one building), the Noordbrabants Museum and the Design Museum, Den Bosch prides itself as a cultural destination. It is a city rich in history and with a pleasant vibe.

THE SINT-JANSKATHEDRAAL (cathedral of Saint John) is the impressive Roman-Catholic cathedral in the center of 's Hertenbosch. The cathedral was built from 1220 to 1530 in Brabant Gothic style, which is the trademark style of cathedrals in the southern Netherlands and what is now Belgium, e.g. Antwerp, Mechelen or Brussels.

THIS PICTURE looks up at the impressive ceiling construction with the main tower in the top left (with the all-seeing eye). I also like the soft spring light falling on the soft interior colours.
