View from Knip, a photo from Netherlands Antilles, Other

Photographer's Note

View over the walls that surround the plantation-house 'Knip'. In the direct enviroment people have built some houses, so a little village has developped.
Behind the village is the national park of 'christoffelberg', a mountainous area of arid tropical forest in which the acacia and the cacti are dominant. The wildlife in the park contains the caracara, a large bird of prey, the white tailed deer, the green Iguano, the amazona parrot and two species of hummingbirds and trupials. In the salt lake there are flamingo's.

Hier met ons winterweer zou men dromen van in dergelijk land te mogen leven, het ziet er schitterend uit, en met uw beschrijving erbij die verwijst naar de mooie exotische vogels, de groen, gele en blauwe hemel kleuren zijn uitzonderlijk mooi.Prachtig werk!

Hello Gerrit, this is an attractive countryside scene. I like the bright wall in the foreground and the spiky cacti to the right. The buildings give us some colour and interest in the distance.

I like the division into horizontal thirds, the strong color contrast between the yellow sand & blue sky, & the graphism of the cacti against the sky. Good work!

Marvellous composition of this landscape with all the acacia and cacti dominating the view in foreground. I love the strong yellow colour in the foreground and blue sky, making a nice combination of colours with the greenery scenery. Very well done!

what a lush, exotic and inviting view with fabolous colours and detail. Must be a paradise of a place - and there are some lucky dudes living in those houses!
