Photographer's Note
Norway | Vester虱en | Nyksund
We are now staying in Myrre for a few days, visiting the northern part of Langya. The village of Nyksund is kind of a mix of traditional Norwegian houses and lovely modern cabins on a hill, surrounded by the impressive presence of the (mostly, not today because we are here) rough sea... ;)
The fishing village Nyksund was former a lively and important fishing village. Located on the far/north side of the Vester虱en islands, the surroundings are beautiful but harsh. In the early 1970s, Nyksund was abandoned and turned into a ghost village.
Decades later, Nyksund slowly started to come to life again, and today it has res-erected as a place for cultural experiences, overnight accommodation, food and various activities, located in the quaint, old sea wharfs /sea houses.

Dag Viviane, alweer mijn buurvrouw.
Groet Rob

Bonjour Viviane,
Such a lovely view with a pleasant and tranquil mood. These colourful wooden houses built on top of the small, rocky islands are so charming. You created an excellent composition too with the large rocks well included in the foreground and the blue water running diagonally through the picture.

Hallo Viviane,
Noorwegen is zeker een plaats waar heel mooie foto's kunnen genomen worden.
Heel mooi en sober panorama met dit beeld over de kleine haven.
Mooi gedaan met de blauwe kleur, en contrast van de rotsen.
Goed foto werk, bedankt.
Groeten uit Vlaanderen,
John

Hello Viviane,
I have enjoyed perusing this photograph for it reminds me of something from a film set.
From this aspect, with the roughly strewn rocks as a f/g, the traditional wooden houses seem to be built on a small island.
The emphasis on blue (the sky and sea) makes the hut colours really pop out.
I like how the big rock, in the f/g, challenges the big island in the b/g and helps to create a good sense of depth.
I wonder if you would like to try this suggestion; I think if you were to crop lots of the sky it would make a very good panorama, the triangular shape of the f/g rocks stands out and the whole scene seems to come closer. You may not agree with me but just try it for the effect!
Big hugs,
Bev :-)

Hi Viviane
the weather is fine out here in Vancouver.
just raining everyday as usual. We don't get snow on the west coast. Only up in the mountains. Its largely misunderstood.
I guess most people think all of Canada is blanketed in snow in the winter :) Vancouver has a very temperate climate. our winters are 95% rain. Think of Bergen Norway, rain rain rain...same thing. as for this photo here, its so classic Norway :) so rustic, so photogenic. rocks, ocean, clouds, bright light, large huts on wooden stilts...awesome! cheers

Hi Viviane, This capture of the Norwegian and its craggy rocks and traditional housing really sings and is also enjoyable as a colour spot composition1
(Re: Natuurlijk, je maakt van je huis een Bertolucci expo (grapje !). Maar ik heb je e-mail adres niet meer na vele PC en besturingssysteem wisselingen.)
Hartelijke groet uit Rotterdam, Bert.
