Photographer's Note

This is the summer home of musician Ole Bull, it is situated on the island Lysen in Os. Ole Bull was originally from Bergen, but traveled the world. He was the first to play his violin on top of the tallest pyramid in Egypt. He allso discovered the composer Edvard Grieg (Allso from Bergen).

The hous is inspired by the architecture of the middle east and other places he visited. It is one of the moust famous buildings in Norway for 2 reasons:
1: This was Ole Bulls summer house
2: The architecture.

From the main land to the island it is only 10 minutes to row and 2 minutes by motor boat. Absolutely worth a visit if you ever visit western Norway.

After Ole Bull died his family gave this to the town to become a museum, and this it remains to this day. When I shot this photo they were repairing the fasade of the house so there is a bit of scafolding in the image as well.

The photo was shot from the mainland not more than a kilometer from the ruins that I posted photos of when I joined TE.
