Aker Brygge Clock Tower, a photo from Oslo, South

Photographer's Note

This copper clock tower that now located at the pier at Aker Brygge stood on top of the Verkstedhallen building from 1949 until 1982. It signaled employees at the Akers Mekaniske Verksted shipyard when they had three minutes left before the end of their break. If they reported back to work even one minute late, they were docked for fifteen minutes pay.

Hello Daniel,
The peculiar clock tower is a strong focal point, but I am just as impressed by the good light on so many objects all the way from the tables in the foreground to the buildings in the far distance. The photo is very well exposed under the dark sky and the distant lights are superbly reflected.

Hello Daniel,

This scene looks very calm, very still, with no thoughts of the information you supply in your notes!
The details are crisp and sharp in the f/g with fine light and shadows. The clock doesn't seem sinister!
The b/g of illuminated buildings and reflections is very attractive.

But you present us a beautiful night shot.
That looks like a very nice place to have a drink with a beautiful view of the city in the distance. Nice long reflections of the lights in the water.

brilliant photo from Oslo. To be honest I didn't see too many photos from this European Capital. This maybe the first one which I really like.
Great quality and sharpness. The clock tower makes a nice focal point, The sky has nice color and the overall mood is so romantic.

A beautiful night shot from Oslo with this low clock tower very well placed in the foreground of the vertical composition. The deep blue sky is a great backdrop for the nice and clear illuminations.
