Photographer's Note
Fairy tale in the ocean, paradise beyond the polar circle - the Lofoten.
The first visit to the shop could be a bit confusing. Goat痴 cheese with caramel taste. Blood pudding or lung pur馥, which even for some Norwegians needs getting used to. Naturally, there is a large number of fish in any variation, which the tourist sometimes only finds tasty with the second bite;
The core of traditional Lofoten cuisine still is the famous Stockfisch, trrfisk. Hung up on pyramid-like wooden bars hjell to dry, the cod, rarely also other kinds of fish, it is exposed to the sun and the wind for twelve weeks. From February to May, the period of the production of dried cod, one encounters it at almost every part of the island. For those that consider the traditional Lofoten cuisine to be too adventurous, simply cooked cod with boiled potatoes or grilled salmon are still a top delight. From the sea directly onto the plate fresh as fresh can be.
Because the Lofoten and fish belong together. Godt mat!

Very nice documentation of the daily life. We also uses a lot of dried fish in the Philippines, first because no refrigeration is available. I like your pov and it has a good dof with nice details even with just available lighting. Well done, tfs.

Hello Greg,
This shop interior is laid out like a still life arrangement. You have photographed it beautifully and made the most of the lovely light. These islands are a place that I very much want to visit.

All Grzegorz!
F駘icitations!... et bonne soir馥,
Emilius

hello Grzegorz
At first I thought it was too dark
Then I thought that after all, the mood was well conveyed in this old fashioned grocery
Well done, natural colors and light well managed

Witaj Gregorz! Solved technically perfect photo. Nice warm tones. The comment is useful. I do not think I want to eat in Norway. Not long ago an eating program on TV, they were presented with traditional Norwegian dishes. Whale bacon, smoked whale meat, like that. Well ... instead of Mediterranean cuisine. And the Norwegian villages, traditional fish smell, I have not even spoken :-) Sooooo: If I were here for a pilgrimage, a large backpack with normal food and I'm taking with me :-) Have a nice day. csaba

I've always been fascinated by the lifestyle of the far north, though I've never had a chance to visit - your photo gives me a nice window into it. Wonderful indirect lighting from the window just out of frame, and everything seems to be arranged precisely. Well composed photo.

The old shop by itself brings joy to the viewer with the stone cut floors and wooden walls and roof, just a gorgeous shop all by itself. And now for the food!! Look at the size of those cod's......WOW!! At what temperature do you dry these cod's at? I imagine that those months are still very cold, right?
Anyway, superb POV with excellent color and light control, masterful job here Grzegorz!!

What a fascinating shot and a very unusual shop Gregg! Not the usual supermarket but so many unusual items to gaze upon. I love the dark richness of this interior, it is so well suited to the subject and you have handled the light very attractively. A glimpse into a totally different world. TFS and warm regards rosemary
