Summer evening at Fedje, a photo from Hordaland, South

Photographer's Note

I was on my way to capture some sunset photos on the island of Fedje when I came across this scene. I had to make a short stop here and capture some photos. I was attracted to the red boat house nicely illuminated by the sweet evening light - the time was almost 22:30 when this was taken. I took a couple of shots and suddenly i saw this boat coming in. I waited for the boat to enter the scene and captured a couple of shots more. This is one of them.

Hello Erling,

Photography is often about good timing.
The boat is interesting but, for me, it is the rich, red house that captures most attention. It looks to be almost smouldering in the low sunlight.
What a great scene!
You must have been overwhelmed by the photographic possibilities here!

Ljuset, f舐gerna och speglingarna g den h舐 bilden sm蚯t fantastisk. Du gjorde klokt i att v舅ta p� den lilla b蚯en, men detta hade blivit en enast蘰nde komposition 舸en utan den. Det ra b蚯huset 舐 inte bara en en riktig "eye-catcher", det 舐 ocks� en v舁digt vacker byggnad. Men det 舐 fst蚶 aldrig fel att f� med lite relse och m舅niskor ocks�. Och klockan 22:30 hade du fst蚶 fortfarande gott om tid till solnedg蚣gen. ;-)

The red house and its perfect reflection catches the eyes in this amazing reflection , with also the other white houses and the boat . The great light is an important feature , too .

What a magnificent photo. The view is gorgeous with the warm light on the charming houses. The reflections are fantastic too and very nicely distorted in the smallest ripples in the water.

Wonderful evening sunshine shot with intense reddish light. You have excellent framing, and it is good to have that boat in the view too. That red shed right next to water is quite picturesque.

At first I look at this splendid picture without reading the note and I fantasized how I should have frame this scene. I think I should have tried it without the sky at the lower side of the picture creating a scene with two almost equal parts.
Then I read your note and discovered the boat entering this fascinating scene and suddenly I had to look at the picture with different eyes.

Hello Erling, patience and maybe some good fortune in your timing has enabled you to take this beautiful picture.
The almost completely still water has created excellent reflections.
The white and the bright red of the buildings really 'grab' the eyes!
I like the boat just coming into the frame.
