The next port of call on our little cruise in late April was the town of Fl蚓, best known for the famous Fl蚓 Railway though we didn't actually travel on it.
This picture was taken from our boat around 6 a.m. as we docked because I was immediately drawn to this row of four attractive small houses on the shore of the fjord. I believe they may well be houses for rent.
You can see another photograph taken at the same time from the boat in my workshop.
ISO 400, 1/125 sec at f/4, focal length 70mm.

Hello John,
What a beautiful view. The red color jumps out, and so do all the identical features, both on the houses, and with the way those small boats are sitting in the water. Only the boat on the far right decided to do its own thing. :-) I also like the bare, rocky background, and the reflections in the foreground.

Hi John
The 4 same houses in red color and their anchored boat are well boosting the dark hues of the picture. Well done!

Hello John,
I love the mood of this photo, the cool morning light is wonderful and the calm water reflected the four charming houses so well, whose red colours are very appealing among the colours of the slopes and nature in the background, which look still quite faded in the early spring after a long winter. Excellent photo!

Hello John,
This view as such is absolutely beautiful, but it is also a very good composition. The four red huts - each one with a boat in front of it - are perfectly placed and perfectly reflected. Against the grayish background they look incredibly bright. The WS gives us a better idea of the area.
Kind regards,
Gert

A wonderful architectural image, panorama view about the area.
An excellent composition, perfect sharp and clear.

Hello John,
Wow! This is just an amazing photograph!
The group of red houses, with their shimmering reflections, make stunning focal images.
The leafless tress and sombre b/g colours give an interesting b/g without detracting in any way from the focal houses.
The boats are good additions, especially the rogue one, which proves the honesty of the photograph.
The mood is one of perfect calm. What could be better than to rent one of these in such a gorgeous location!
Your w/s is of high quality, too and could have been a main post in its own right. I wonder if, like me, you know you probably think that you will never get round to posting all your shots so a w/s is a good way of sharing them!
Thank you for all your warm critiques on my 'Anniversary Tour' shots. They are much appreciated and it is so good to have you back on the site.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello John
Wow! What an excellent capture of these similar boathouses. I know Fl蚓 very well. It`s a 2,5 hours drive from Bergen, but I can`t remember these lovely boathouses. I have to look for it next time I`m there. Even the boats seem to be similar to each other. The boat on the right is placed the other way and breaks up the symmetry. The red facades and the boats are nicely reflected in the water. Excellent! TFS.

good evening John,
This is how I saw Flam back in May, 1980.
The waterfront wooden huts nowadays looks different, but the concept is the same.
Beautiful picture across the bay, contrast against the rocky slopes of the majestic Fjord is outstanding sight.
Bravo,
Ike

Hello John, this is a real winner, absolutely beautiful.
Excellent sharpness. Those houses are charming. I wonder if someone built them there, right next to the water, just so photographers like you would come along and share this view?
One of those scenes that I wish was one of mine!!
Into my favourites, thank you.
Regards Jean.

Hello John
When seeing the title, I also had immediately to think of the famous railway line. Although I have never travelled there.
Two beautiful photos from which it is difficult to choose, which is the first choice.
Although the play between sun and shadow on the mountains above the village is impressive, you must always choose for 斗ove at first sight and then you choose of course for those four beautiful houses and their reflection in the fjord.
Excellent work
Have a good week, groet Rob

Hello John, These small red houses are really charming. They are almost identical, so probably you are right they are for rent. Similar houses in Lofoten were called rorby. Haha, even the boats are the same. I like Workshop pictures very much The light is fantastic - the mountains are well lit but the town is still in the shadow. The houses are so neat. Wonderful both pictures.

Hello, John!
The strong color of the painting of these houses make them stand out beautifully in this dark environment, and the reflections on the water are a wonderful detail of the photo! Very nice job!
