Photographer's Note
On the same long road as yesterday痴 photo, between Kvalsund and Alta, on the E6.
I promessed to let you see a remarquable building, so how lovely is this quaint little church?
It is a Sami church, situated nearby Sennalandet, and it was originally built in Kautokeino in 1961 but moved to Aisaroaivi and consecrated in 1962.

1953 had begun with some regular summer events, including the Sennalandet. A small mil closer Alta, at Okselv, there was a reindeer slaughterhouse as Sami Mission lent to conventions in the early years, so it was possible to pull in if bad weather. The desire was to build a single summer chapel initially on Sennalandet and Brselvfjellet mountains.
The good solution for Sennalandet came by Kautokeino got a new church in 1958 and Interim church was vacant. North H虱ogaland bishop, Alf Wiig, had previously been involved and officiated mass in the slaughterhouse at Okselv under Sami Mission Assembly. He arranged for the Same Mission received acquire Interim church in Kautokeino to move it to a summer settlement for Kautokeino nomads. It seems easy to determine that the place had to be Aissaroaivai on Sennalandet.
In 1960, caretakers in hospitals and old people痴 home in Kautokeino, Hans Befring and Klemet JM H誥ta initiated to mark the timber and take it down. Later, Simon Johnsen from Tana et al started reconstruction on Sennalandet. Summer 1961 it completed and in July 1961 it was consecrated as a chapel of Sami Mission land secretary Jakob Brretzen.
Senna Land chapel got a facelift what interior concerns in 1971. The roof structure of the hall was lifted, walls paneled, new windows inserted, and a choir addition was joined together with the rest of the plant. Alf K. Tellefsen was in place with the crew from Flekkerya and Hans Lindkjlen from DSF also participated in the construction work along with Berg from Hommelvik.

Hi Viviane,
A bit surprising to see this little church in the middle of nowhere. Wide open snowy looks so good. View from late May shows well how short summers are over there.

Hello Dear Viviane,
There is no doubt that snow makes a scene pristine and shows excellent, extreme contrasts. This really is a very beautiful, well composed photograph.
But, I am confused, why is this church built in such an isolated place?
Is there a village nearby which is out of sight?
Big hugs,
Bev :-)

Harika bir manzara. Bir de pencereden sızan sarı sıcak ışıkları hayal edince daha da gzel oluyor. Teşekkrler..

Bonsoir Viviane,
It is hard to believe that this picture was taken in May, given the huge amount of snow that is still there. A beautiful landscape. The small church is well included in the composition and the dark lines in the white slopes add a good contrast too.

Hello Viviane
Impressive in almost monochrome. I had to check whether it really was a colour picture! Beautiful, but I'm so glad I'm not living anywhere near:)

Hello Viviane,
This is a beautiful landscape, and if I hadn't looked at the date it was taken, I would have guessed this was a view from the middle of winter! The small church is also lovely, and placed nicely in the composition. I also like the small bits of fence and the bare branches that are poking out from under the snow. Very nice. :-)
