Photographer's Note

Built on the site of the old Warsaw Ghetto is the new 2007 Polin Museum commemorating the poignant fate of the city's Jewish population during WWII. "The Hebrew word Polin in the museum's English name means either "Poland" or "rest here" and relates to a legend about the arrival of the first Jews to Poland." More information here:

Hello Chris,
I saw this museum a few months earlier, before it was officially opened, and the collections were still a bit meagre. It was mainly the architecture that impressed me, but I don't remember this corner and interesting window. The bright chairs complement the view through the glass nicely. You spotted it well.

I have not been in Warsaw for a while so I didn't have a chance to see it in person.
Big cities are so alive, growing all the time, that very visit means new possibilities to see something new.

Oh this is awesome, its great to see modern funky architecture in Warsaw. Now having said that with excitement, the actual function of the museum is much more serious. You present this very well, showing off the colourful chairs, the triangles and strong vertical lines, lots of geometry here. cool shot

Hello Chris, Polin museum commemorates a sad part of Warsaw history. The tragedy that happened before and during the world war II has forced many people to migrate to other European countries and to the Us. The building has a modern design, I like the two right triangles cutted in the corner.

Fantastic composition with this detail of the modern building, with that ribbed facade, but what is most surprising is that kind of viewpoint, which looks like a pyramid and where we see its interior with the colorful armchairs.
The management of light, are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the image.

Hello Cris,
I love the concept - oh how I wish that white wall were not there! I tried removing it with the content-aware fill in Adobe Photoshop, but it left a scar (could not align the patterns). I am sure it could be removed by meticulous cloning, but I am not sure I have the time to do it for a workshop. However, if it were my photo and I wanted to hang it on my wall, it would be worth the effort. I love the minimalism, the geometrical shapes (minus the white wall) and the effect of the modern furniture seen behind the windows. 👍🏻👍🏻
