Photographer's Note
No TE points please
With great sadness, and shock, I heard the news today that our friend Serghei has passed away, from
a month long battle with Covid 19 complications.
I met Serghei and his wife, when I met Malgo in Warsaw. I remember him as always laughing, and even though his english was terrible, but not as terrible as my Russian hahahaha...he made every effort to try and speak to me. All we could do is laugh and just enjoy the moment.
So sad to hear this young man has passed, He will always be remembered. Goodbye my friend

Hello Craig,
A wonderful take from a high spot on this corner with the elegant building, with its returning pattern of windows. The trail leading to the far side dome had added good sense of depth to the composition.
My best regards, must stay well, COVID is still around.

Hi Craig
Such a beautiful tribute to our friend. What a character, larger than life really. It's such a shock to believe he is gone. Please take care of yourself and your little family and thank you for keeping in touch.

Hi Craig
Indeed a great shock for all of us. Not sure if you wanted 'no points please' which is often the case for this kind of tribute. But I am sure your Russian would be worse than Sergei's English! I only knew him through his uploads on TE, so you are privileged to have met him in person. He sounded like quite a character! Tfs!

Hello Craig,
To show my respect for Serghei I will not give you any points for this photo, although it's good enough to deserve many. It's a nice street with fine buildings and a few persons well placed in sunny areas.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Craig, What I can say. I feel devastated by this tragic news. What a time we had together! I remember our first meeting in Castle Square as if it was yesterday. At least we have memories - in our hearts and also on memory cards.
Stay safe
Malgo
PS. Was his English so terrible? I do not remember it. It was my Russian that was terrible..

Hello Craig,
I remember Serghei from his photos and comments on this site.
No idea how old he was but had the feeling that he was still relatively young. COVID naturally makes victims in all age groups.
I wish his wife, family and friends a lot of strength in these difficult times.

Hi Craig, the best commemoration for our friend you were lucky enough to know,sa i can see watching your WS, but with whom I also had a lot of fun when he put photos of his sculptures made with pasta and I commented with my pasta ... cooked ... ahaha ... even if he no longer frequented this site I miss him a lot, and apparently not only me, many wanted to greet him today. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

A fitting tribute to Serghei, a fine photographer and by what you write a real character

Hi Craig,
It is sad news the passing away of Serghei, I never met him buy exchange critique on his photos, may he rest in peace. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. Have a nice day.

Hi Craig
It was such sad news, I first heard from Malgo a few weeks ago. I have not met Serghei personally but exchanged a few critiques and it feels like an important part of TE community is now missing. But, first of all, I really feel for the family he left behind, my Dad passed away less than 12 months ago and I really know how they must be feeling.
This is a great tribute to Serghei.
Best wishes
Kasia
