George, this is a great shot but I do not understand the second half of the note, is this a repost or something? Anyway the contrastiness of the shot and the saturated colors put this squarely in the surreal realm.

Hi, George -

Good portrait shot, very expressive. And I like the cottage in the background; gives us a good sense of the area. Her face is not as sharp as the cottage, though.

so, where is my old comment for this one? anyway, i was waiting for babusya to come back and give me that look... just like my great grandma Anna when she was 103 back in 1976... the house she lived in was not that much different from this one. after the war, the commies had torn out the floors in her house and used them as fire-wood; but that's peanuts in the grand scheme of life. she still had her 11 grownup children...

it's a great portrait, George. my sincere compliments to you and this Polish queen!

SHE ! What a babe...A house like in a fairy tale book. A woman alive, a woman we see thanks to you. To be cherished. A queen.
I am amazed, though not surprised, at how seeing your pics now as they are posted, makes them even more captivating!. Each one brings the reaction : ah, yes, how I liked/loved/adored it.:-) None leaves indifferent.

Don't remember what I wrote earlier, still I think she comes out of a book for children, the colours and the incredibly cute old house... I would maybe have cloned out the electric wires to make it even more like out of a sort of fairy tale (but then, there is the story that I just re-read, so the wires are important after all).

In the same time, this is a lovely portrait of a real old woman from the last century in Poland.

Great photo and I'd have love to meet this old woman, she was probably fun and interesting to listen to !

Thank you to give us the opportunity to dream and travel in the not so distant past...

Is she still alive... Hmm... I'll tell you Mr Grabarczyk the answer. But only if I decide that you merit it... So, let痴 see...
This photo is pure joy. Every time I go to your profile page, I see it, there. Fascinating. But will I be able to write words that will do justice to HER? Hmm. She is amazing! The smile in her face is so welcoming. Her scarf, her hands, her shirt the same color as her house, but what I really like the most: her shoes! Just for her shoes I would trust and like that woman! ;-) Now, there is the house too with the thatched roof... I hope it is still possible to find that kind of beauty. And good, you did let the electrical wires to be obvious. They have to stay there in my opinion (very humble, you know). And the last thing that I like a lot is the yard surrounding the house. Not all organized, not all clean, no nice flowers arrangements, no little clean cut bushes, not the small alley going to a neat bench, and so all. Just raw stuff, just lawn with patches of dry grass, and some ordinary flowers considered as weed. Sorry for my ramblings, but sometimes, too much neatness and order make me want to run and cry.
The only thing I would have got rid of would have been the small part of the roof of another building at the left side of the photo.
Well Jurcio 1, you are worthy of the answer.

thanks for the shot and comment. I was born in 1978. but a little southern. my great-granmother lived in a similar house. not so marvellous and without this kind of the roof but she lived in the same way of life. kind reminiscence...
