Photographer's Note
What tomorrow will bring nobody knows there. It used to be a huge employer, one of the largest steel works in the region.
Now this smoking chimney is the only remaining of the huge object.
Across the street you will find a vast area of tenement houses. Full of unemployed.
For many the transision from the absurd economy of socialism into a market oriented, cost consious capitalism turned out to be painful.

Hello Jerzy,

Hi Jerzy,
I like how you put so much black in the frame, instead of just focusing on the 'action'. This shows how 'vast' this place is. I like the geometry portrayed by the lines, which is very nice. Good details of smoke too. Enjoyable abstract pic.
Best wishes,
CheukHin

Wonderful composition and theme! Effects of Indiscriminate privatization and the skeleton of capitaism comes out beautifully through the lone smouldering chimney. However there is always hope amongst the ravages of despair which is evident from the silhouette of the young girls passing by against the Sun.

Rich series in brown, J. You're bringing to life a whole community no one really knows anythiong about, now they are part of our lives - that is a tremendous thing to do, you know? Nice moody end of day scene here, bicycles and a remaining chimney against the sky.
Nice work,
Francis

At first glance I thought there was too much black, and wrong composition, but when looking closer the effect of the sun through the railings and the silhouettes of the bikers, this is really a great shot!

A great piece of work J - finely crafted moment caught so decisively - good tonal treatment to raise the symbolic stakes and a note which paints a picture that stirs a thousand thoughts.......
best wishes Kev

Bonjour Jerzy,
J'aime beaucoup votre fa輟n de pr駸enter cette prise de vue. En lisant la note, l'on comprend davantage la "mise en sc鈩e" ; le d馗or est parfaitement plant.
Cela m駻ite un v駻itable coup de chapeau. Une photo qui sugg鑽e m駻ite autant, sinon plus qu'une photo qui montre !

Hello Jerzy
This photo is darkly poetic,
the lonely cyclists could be an allegory for the people exiting the system, I really like the play of light and shadows and the empty space on the foreground

This is very good Jerzy. That small section around the front cycle wheels is amazing in terms of light control. The background is also amazing. The smoke, the strong sun, the tall chimney and the clouds formation. Very beautiful. The overall result is great, with that deep dark section on the bottom. Really like it.

Ol Jerzy, you allways know to write short meaningful notes for your images. The work of this dramatic light is just great. After a while looking at your image, I began to apreciate all the dark area presented in this wide angle image. I would have the temptation of cropping the left (making the chimneys scenery off center) and bottom side...
The result is superb.

Hi Jerzy. This is great meaningful composition.. They run toward to darkness, not to light. Congrats, best wishes...

A very symbolic picture with nice dark sepia tones, Jerzy. The silouettes and shadows here are just beautiful, and it is so nice that they are riding their bicycles across these long shadows of the railing! Very good and goes so well with your note. The note on itself is sad, but the symbolism of the picture makes it optimistic!
Cheers

Hi Jerzy,
I am amazed with your ability to address serious issues such as this through images. Love the sepia tone and those long shadows cast by the railings. I hope the new sun will help them emerge from the darkness.

No Jurek miażdżysz takimi strzałami!

Hi Jerzy!
wow.... this sepia... this light... this dark.
You achieve again a super atmosphere to a simple scene. I like the industrial background. It reminds me the songs of Anne Clark.

Hello Jerzy,
This image is all about light and shadow effects.
I really like it.
The shadows of the iron bars and the bikes on the pavement create a very nice graphical effect.
Of course the sepia tones are the best choise for this one.

Hello Jerzy,
Superb light control and atmosphere creation on this shot! the silhouettes and shadows are so appealing and giving such a strenght to the photo! I like to see the chimnee and the smoke getting out of it, so typical from the cities were the iron industry plays an important role onwhat concerns the employment.
Cheers.

Hi Jerzy, I like a lot the atmosphere here, this smoking chimney and the strong shadows, I am just wondering about the big dark space at the bottom, it seems a little bit too much to me, anyway a strong atmosphere...

Hi Jerzy,
don't want to miss this shot... wonderful! I can really feel how the wheels of the bicycles are turning time into the future. Wonderful use of back light to make this shot as dymamic as possible. I must make it one of my favourites!
Have a nice day,
