forgotten worlds... (part I), a photo from Podlaskie, East

Photographer's Note

In the northern - east of Poland by whole centuries lived abreast people of different cultures, nationality and religions - Poles, Jews, Muslims, Lithuanians, Belorussians, Russians, believers of Orthodox church... Now this world already does not exist... This photo I made in village Krynki, 4 kilometres from belorussian border. Before the II World War the Jews represented 95% inhabitants of village, which had status of city. Today sole that stay after them that are several broken gravestones (macew) and three destroyed synagogues.
I long time searched these tombstones because cemetery is vandalized and nobody takes care of him...

To make this photo I used Nikon D70, Tamron 28-80 and circular polarizer.

Bardzo ciekawy ujęcie. Bardzo mi się podobają te kamienne nagrobki zagubione w trawie. Jak by mogly mić napewno by nam opowiedzieli dużo historii. Pozdrawiam. Beata

wiele zdjec zydowskich cmentarzy przewijalo sie tu kiedys... jakos zadne do mnie trafilo, Twoja praca jednak zwrocila moja uwage, glownie przez starannosc wykonania, widac, ze jest przemyslana, wszystkie elementy rozmieszczone w kadrze w sposob fantastyczny, z delikatnie przerysowanym pierwszym planem, nie zgubiles nic ze szczegolow, ani na macewach, ani w zacienionym lesie, format zdjecia (rowne boki) rowniez bardzo mi sie podoba, pozdrawiam

Niesamowite. I Twoja notka jest naprawde swietna, dodatkowo wprowadza nostalgiczny nastroj za czyms, co kiedys bylo takie oczywiste, a teraz juz nie wroci. Natomiast to co mnie tu najbardziej poruszyło jest paradoksalnie z innej dziedziny. Poprzechylane nagrobki. W Irlandii widzialam wiele nagrobkow poprzechylanych, w Polsce nie widziałam ich dotad nigdy. Zastanawiałam się, czemu, ze moze tam jest bardziej miekka ziemia. Ale odpowiedz jest inna - ile w Polsce mozna znalezc nagrobkow sprzed 100-200 lat? Jak nikt nie placi, to po 20 latach do grobu trafia juz nowy nieboszczyk. Jedynym wyjatkiem, wlasnie paradoksalnie, sa stare, opuszczone cmentarze...
