Closed for Russian tourists, a photo from Algarve, South

Photographer's Note

This is intended as my last post from my Portuguese archives. Picture taken along the coast of Algarve southeast from Alvor. The town on the horizon most likely being Portimao.

As one of the sanctions against Russia, which started an unprovoked senseless war in Ukraine and keeps killing civilians and breaking international conventions, many countries closed their airspace for Russian planes. This article from Reuters well illustrates the current status:

One can argue whether innocent Russian tourists, who are probably not even aware that their country started a deadly war in Ukraine, should suffer for the decisions of Russian leaders. Well, first of all, they are a side in the war, and they are the aggressors. I think majority of Russians supports Putin. If they don't support him they should protest against the war. If they don稚 know about the war, maybe this is a way to let them know. I am sure the Russian propaganda brainwashed them: 鍍errible West is behaving unfriendly� says Putin. No, we have no doubts anymore, and we know we cannot trust even one word coming from Russian leaders. Even if they declare a ceasefire. This is the same approach which Nazis took in WWII, bombing hospitals and humanitarian help. Russians must see that we are all united against the war. We don稚 hate them. We understand what it means to have stupid leaders. We are happy to see Russia strong economically or culturally but not strong by the presence of their tanks in neighbouring countries. If they stop the war, sincerely apologise, and help to rebuild Ukraine, pay the war reparations, we can probably forgive them and welcome them back. But until then we want to remove them from each aspect of the international life as a signal that we condemn the war they started in Europe.

All of Portugal coatsline is a heaven for photographers, Mariusz.
Another example of beautiful rocks formation, grined and carved by winds and water for millions of years. marvelous sight, good contrast from the cliff to sea.
The whole world will go under some tourism recession, especially European countries.

So the Russians will spend their beach holidays from now on on an Egyptian beach.
The pebble beach deep below you has not yet been discovered by tourists :)
Probably not immediately the traveler's big dream.
Great view of the beautiful coastline.

Hello Mariusz,
I checked the map, but noticed this is just a small part of the Algarve coast I didn't visit. Another wonderful collection of rock formations here, shown in perfect, bright sunlight. Nice colour contrast with the sea as well.

Bardzo dobry post na te okazje. I dobre sankcje, bo od niemozliwosci wyjazdu na urlop jeszcze nikt nie umarl, a jednoczesnie sa one dobrze wymierzone w rosyjska klase srednia, jej aspiracje i styl zycia.
Bardzo ladne zdjecie, super kolory i swiatlo.

Hi Mariusz,many countries have closed flights from Russia, but this also entails a serious economic loss and I had already talked about it. However it seems correct to me, it is one of the many small stones to kill the monster, and I am convinced that it will be the Russians themselves who will eliminate Putin. when we visit a country (in my own case) we have a feeling of sympathy for it and its people, this is my view about the russians. at the end they will pay the bill of these dreams of power, and I feel sad for them and much more because the ukrainians. nice this view of the famous rocks in algarve.

Stunning wide angle shot with dizzying view down the cliff. All those brown tones of rocks are special. Town further back is well placed along the top edge of the frame.
