Photographer's Note
One more view from the walk along the orange cliffs, one of many spots which you can photograph along the drive from Sagres to the westernmost end of Algarve, Cabo de S縊 Vicente.
Thinking about cliffs in Portugal I remembered the accident which happened to a Polish family on their holidays in Portugal in 2014. The parents decided to take a selfie at the edge of cliffs leaving their two children aged 5 and 6 in a safe distance. Unfortunately, both parents fell down and died. Their bodies were recovered on the next day. Their children watched the death of their parents.
Here is a press release:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2721975/Couple-plunged-death-cliff-young-children-tried-selfie.html
To be more precise this accident did not happen in Algarve but in the westernmost part of Portugal and continental Europe, Cabo da Roca, which is closer to Lisbon.

Magnificent yet another picture of the rocks and cliff so characteristic of Portugal atlantic oeacen front, Mariusz.
Endless waves, notable undercurrents, kept pounding even as it was the middle of the summer.
Fine outcome, cheers,
Ike

Hello Mariusz,
A very tragic event that the children will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
In the press release I read that they probably have crossed a safety barrier to take a photo of themselves.
With your pictures of the Polish Baltic coast in mind, I know you respect a closure. I've ignored closures many times, but luckily I never take selfies.
The most daring place I've ever been was on the edge of the Preikestolen cliff which rises 605 meters above the Lysefjord, Norway. Luckily there were no smartphones back then :)
Of course you always have to be careful and what I remember of the Atlantic coast of Portugal is that there are huge gusts of wind. You should definitely take that into account.
You show us here a very fascinating scenery.
Perfect sharpness and a strong colour contrast make it a splendid picture.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Mariusz,
A fantastic view of these cliffs, I really like the play of light and shadows and the mix of grey and orange rocks is wonderful as well. The composition is well balanced between the sea and rocks as well.

Hi Mariusz,I did not know about this terrible accident that happened a few years ago, but it is certainly not the only one to have been a tragedy attempting a dangerous selfie. The place is not the same you are talking about, but it is certainly similar and conveys the danger of the gesture, but also the unique beauty in an impeccable photo. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

another perfect use of the rocks in FG with the cape at distance. yes, cliffs can be very dangerous, once I almost fell down in one in Monserrat (catalunya)and I remember histories about argentinian tourists falling in abysses in beaches in southern Brazil too.
take care

Hello Mariusz,
Fantastic crags! I should be safe here, I do not take selfies. If I have a photo of a place, that is proof enough that I have been there.
Regards,
MT
