Photographer's Note

The Belem tower is one of the most well known Lisbona monuments, it built in Manuelino style.
The manuelino Style, for times also called delayed or flaming Portuguese gotic, is an architectural style that if developed in the reign of Manuel I of Portugal and continued its death after, still that already existed since the reign of Jo縊 II of Portugal. It is a Portuguese variation of the final Gtico, marked for a systematization of proper iconographic reasons, great transport, symbolizing the regal power. It incorporated, later, contamination of the Italian Renaissance. The term "Manuelino" in its "Notice Histrica and Descriptiva of the Monastery of Bel駑" was created by Francisco Adolph Varnhagen , of 1842.
