Green Fields, a photo from Coimbra, North

Photographer's Note

This hill-top castle is located to the west of Coimbra in the town of Montemor-o-Velho. Post processing done in CS2 /Camera Raw. Mostly just adjusting levels and correcting exposure slightly. I also removed an unsightly lamp attached to the lower section of the castle wall.

Welcome to TE, Matt, this is a great start! I like the contrast of the hard stone against the velvety fields (so velvety they almost look out of focus, but they're not!), and the great light on those fields. Regards, Ken.

Welcome to TE Matt. Very good first entry, the shadow over the field gives a special touch to the composition, a compo that gets more interesting with the castle. Congratulations and I look forward to see more photos of you.

Hi Matt. Welcome on TE. Good start indeed. You have taken a good perspective for this shot; the different gradations of green due to the shadows are really good. Only a slight hard light on the background where the houses are. Congrats for this first one.

Love the way the castle wall is lighted, and the tones of the grass field below.

On the issue of the lighting on the top right corner, perhaps a bit of selective darkening, and contrast enhancement would help?
