Flying a kite in Evoramonte, a photo from Evora, South

Photographer's Note

This is the Palace of Evoramonte, a medieval village situated a few kilometers far from ﾉvora. Decorated in Manueline style, it has been built as a defensive castle or as a residence for hunting. It's situated at the top of the hill, in a very strategic place, surrounded by 14th century walls.Inside these walls, it's also possible to find several streets formed by very old houses.
When I went there it was terribly windy, as this place is situated on a high place so I found a man flying a kite.

This is my last photo now because I'm leaving on holidays till Christmas. So, I want to wish a Merry Christmas to you all!!!!!!!

Great composition where the boy with the kite adds another dimension. Great light and definition. I would only erased the line from the antenna. And Merry Christmas to you too, Ana.

Ana,
This is a nice perspective on this castle. The kite adds a nice touch to your shot. You have captured good color and lighting with a nice sky.
I think your DOF could be greater! If you raise your f-stop to F/11-16 you will create a greater DOF and a sharper image. The slower shutter speed will yield more saturation as well.

Hi Ana,
Lovely photo with great colours, the fort is looking robost and gives a feeling of war but the young guy flying kite is givin the impression of he present day peaceful life.I like the idea and the compo.Marry Christmass to you and have a nice holiday.

Muito boa foto Ana. Como sou um apaixonada por castelos esta n縊 me podia escapar. Gosto muito da tua composi鈬o e da inclus縊 da 疵vore e do homem e seu papagaio. Ambos emprestam uma boa sensa鈬o de escala ao castelo. O teu ponto de vista, ligeiramente lateral � o correcto pois permite mostrar o castelo em 3D. Se estivesses de frente o resultado n縊 seria o mesmo e a foto perderia em din穃ica. Muito boa mesmo. Obrigado

Este � provavelmente um dos melhores locais na regi縊 para lan軋r ar vento um papagaio. Al駑 disso, deu um ponto de cor muito bonito � tua foto e uma precesn軋 humana sempre muito bem-vinda. Est� excelente a imagem na qual se v� muito bem um dos mais distintos ornamentos do estilo manuelino. Gosto muito.

Que pena, que antenas interferem numa arquitetura t縊 bonita. O g縊 que administra esse patrimio, poderia n縊 permitir que esse tipo de polui鈬o visual acontecesse.
Quanto a concep鈬o da imagem: excelente POV, cores bem definidas e contrastes tamb駑.

Wow .. this is wonderful .. your point of view and composition with the kite flyer and the tree really emphasize the domination of the castle from the top of the hill .. the kite flyer adds an element of humanity to this that is really wonderful .. the sky is perfect .. I just might clone out the antenna .. wondrous image ..

it was a good idea to talk about the kite in the title because I'm not sure I would have opened te thumbnail, it asks for curiosity:D
You have a nice perspective on the castle and the colors are well saturated. I think you found the good proportions for the castle and for the man flying his kite. The man is a VERY NICE touch. This kind of touch will make this photo stand out of all the pictures of that castle...

Everything is perfect: the composition, the castle, the fantastic sky (under this point of view you are "the specialist"!), the man with the kit. Brava Ana!
Just a sad note: maybe the owner is a criminal to grant to put an antenna on the roof! :o(

Hi Ana,
I would rather call this photo a little kite and big castle ;) I like solid structure of this castle with very basic lines and no decorative elements at all. The low point of view makes the structure appear even more powerful.
