Photographer's Note

I think i did a passion for star effect and every time I try to shoot the sun :) Here I liked the play of the light and shadows on the white snow,and an opportunity for me to try a combination in B&W.......
On the hills in Moeciu,the TE meeting place

Wonderfull b&w with perfect light management, good play of light and shadow.

It looks perfect! You have created nice composition with all details.. I like the surface of the snow and footprints on it.. And the shadows of the benches are perfect also..

Stunning shot, Anellise.
The strong contrast, the texture of the snow from your low viewpoint, and the great fence and its shadow, make this a beauty. Certainly my favourite for this week, so far. I wonder if you used a filter, or is it mist that is filtering the sun? I can't see any improvement or real change in the WS version.

Fnatastic beautiful result! I've also done soe experiments with hight f to get star effect on the sun, but nothing got even nearthis result.

this is for me your best from Romania so far, really outstanding, the way you play with shadow and light, the low pov is a great choice as is the B/W conversion, the traces and the texture of the snow, even without the star, it would be a great job. Nice to see that you had a great time!

Hi my friend,

this one is great !! Perfect, that you gave so much space to the snow and that you put the house to the upper margin. The kick comes from the fence and its shadow. B&W makes it more sophisticated and elegant. Great photo, great work !

Frumos! Imi plac umbrele lungi si mai ales textura zapezii in prim plan. Interesant ca ai facut-o alb-negru! Acum stiu si ca diafragma de la obiectivul tau are 6 blades-uri. Aveti grija cand focalizati pe soare ca sa nu se arda senzorul! Merci!

Brasov? Hey, isn稚 this place located in the area where Dracula comes from?
Very artistic, impressive back light shot! Technically it must be rather difficult to achieve such a result. The strong contrast and shadows look fantastic.

Wow! This is a really great shot! The low angle of the sun enables us to see the reflection off the ice crystals in the snow, giving this a sparkling feeling. The shadow of the fence is wonderful too, and very unusual. Excellent example of using lighting to your advantage!

Perfect play with light and shade, great low exposure. The traces of feet on the crispy snow, looong shadow of the fence and the interesting B&W application make this one a very beautiful post.
Did you sleep in those huts? Was it not freezing? OWWW...

Buna, Anellise!

I don't know why you squeezed the sun into that corner, but then... I'm not you. The result is great. All objects are gathered in the upper third part of the picture and the rest of it is practically empty. But the most drama in this picture happens in this bottom part. There's lot's of action down here. The shadows dropped on the snow by the fence elements are the most dramatic aspect of this foreground but the sand-like sparkle of the snow surface as well as the footprints and the slope going orthogonally to the shadow lines fill this area with action and the viewer has little chance of getting bored. The eye can actually rest a bit in the bottom right corner but that's far from actually getting bored.
The beautiful composition on top and the high drama in the foreground makes for a great photo. The black frame suits it well.

What can I say... perfect BW photo! Great light and contrast with many details and nice shadows on the gtillering snow. The silhouettee of the tress in the background and the star effect of the sun fully complete the whole image. Great job!

It was a wise decision to convert it to BW to tame the light, Anes, and this resulted in a great shot, which together with nice strong contrasts features a lovely composition and all together creates a fairy-tale impression of the place... Compliments for this one, in fact one of your best so far, a true photography!!!

At Time, our pictures couldn't be more separated then they are. One crispy sharp cold in a dark but blending winterlandscape where the blistering snow gives it a yellow/blue mood in black and white. and the other a desolated autumn warm beach in warm but restricted colorscheme.
I like your picture that has a kind of cineastic expression over it , where the wooden fence has a slight agressive shape that turns agaist you.

O fotografie de expozitie. Ai elemente diverse (gard, umbre, efectul de stea, casa, capita, copacii, urmele din zapada) si totusi compozitia nu e "cluttered", ci dimpotriva. E reusita si din punct de vedere tonal.

Havn't been this way for a while, By heck your photos have vastly improved from when you started and quite nice to see you use black and white so well.
This is a real corker of a shot, well framed, excellant prospective and beautiful tones

I suppose now its done with Xmas and now looking forward to a Happy New Year best wishs and keep taking those superb black and whites

People usually leave the sun at his original colors :) but making it B&W in this shot makes it better since the snow is white. I love the idea... Very nice!
