Photographer's Note
I begin a long series dedicated to my trip to Romania, last year, I have tried to limit it as much as possible, but there are so many places and the country is so interesting, that you don't know what to select in the end from the large amount I have and that. taking into account, that I had several days with rain, with which the photos do not have the force that they should and in those days I did less.
I hope you enjoy it, I will start with Bucharest and I will go through cities and monasteries, although not in the order of the visit, because I have tried to do it more thoroughly, not putting one monastery followed by another.
---------------------------
It was the first hospital in Bucharest, built on December 14, 1704, at the initiative of Mihai Cantacuzino, to be a hospital for the poor. The organization and operation of the hospital was carried out following the model of the Ospedale di S. Lazzaro e Mendicanti hospital in Venice.
In 1716 he was mentioned as a pharmacist at the Johann Stanislaus Gratovsky Corner Hospital.
The first hospitals are not the hospitals of today, but institutions specialized in the problems of the sick poor. The first place of this type in the extracarpathian Romanian lands was born in the first half of the 17th century in Suceava, but perhaps the most interesting and important are Colțea, Pantelimonul and Hospital Sf. Spiridon in Iași. The three settlements are large monastic complexes where the poor retain their spiritual value and poor children benefit from young children, give alms to people who cannot support themselves, help poor girls to marry every year, contribute to the redemption of prisoners and pay ordination fees to poor priests.
The Colțea Monastery was built in the late 17th or early 18th century by the Cantacuzino family through the backing of Mihai Cantacuzino. Like most hospitals built for the poor during this period, the role of this settlement is to help the rich to redeem their mistakes by helping the poor. And in the Romanian lands, the poor have no other role than to help the rich to find forgiveness for their sins.
The hospital was run by eight epitropi, four mayors and four secondaries, who were supervised by the great vornic and the great logopath, they supervised, but could not intervene, their task was to mediate the relationship between epitropi and lordship. The four primary epitropi kept the accounting records and reported to the secondary ones once a year, donations to the royal treasury were forgiven.
-----------------------------------------------------

Hello Luis!
To be honest, your last about 8 - 10 photos have no good quality, some oversharpened and some not sharp with oversaturation of green color.
This one is perfect again and well composed with some people walking in front of the hospital. Here I like your choosen angle and the contrast with the nice, partly clouded sky.
In june 2018 nobody had an idea what will be in hospitals now with the pandemia.
All the best for you,the patients and stuff working there now.
Regards,Ronny

Hello Luis,
I had planned a trip to Romania last May, but of course that had to be cancelled. A really beautiful view of this stately building, captured in a wonderfully bright sunlight. Well done.

Hola Luis,
a great start for your reportage.
Some places are visited more than others and I think Romania is still under-represented here on TrekEarth.
This will be very interesting to follow.
Very attractive monumental building here, well set against the nice sky.
Excellent work,

Hello Luis,
I also made a fairly long tour of Romania some years ago, so this is going to be interesting. I probably didn't see as many monasteries as you did. I don't remember this building, but Bucharest is a big city and memories fade. You captured it perfectly in a very well balanced photo. The building is truly impressive and you got the colours and light just right.
Best regards,
Gert

Hola Luis,
A hospital that looks more as a palace or as an oficial building.
Impressive facade with the columns in the middle, as eyes catching object.
Well taken from a fair distance across the road.
Buenas tardes,

Ciao Luis,
The name is familiar. I probably walked right past this building. It was given to me as a landmark to catch a local bus. Good sharpness and an impressive Greco Roman neoclassical porch entrance. Tfs!

Hi Luis
That's a wonderful architecture of a grand building taken from a fine point of view with abundance of colourful detail and I like the figs around that makes the photo more interesting. Contrast to deep blue sky is spot on, Congrats

Hola Luis,
I read your notes with interest.
This hospital looks more like a palace, for it is a very beautiful building, with neoclassical elements and warm colours.
It may be difficult for us to understand, these days, but rich people did try to secure their places in Heaven by providing places that were hugely imposing, undeniably expensive, for the benefit of poorer members of the community. Everyone would be able to see the magnificence of the buildings and look with wonder on the kindness of the benefactors.
This is certainly a magnificent building from its pillared entrance to its domed roof. You have captured its splendour with with a fine, sharp exposure.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
