going on with the autumn festival series: one of the bands marching towards the place where the celebration of Targul Palincarilor* ** took place

the 1st and the 3rd artist (left to right) are playing a bit more modern version of the stroh violin (local name: cetera cu goarna), then the gipsy artist pictured earlier and all of them wear traditional costumes

*(palinca is the local brandy - sort of :) ... plum "brandy" is the most famous)

**Targul palincarilor = a fair we usualy enjoy at the beginning of october while celebrating the days of Oradea (more info at this link)

Excelenta compozitie si POV. Asta chiar ca e poza de TE, arata o scena cu adevarat pitoreasca si deosebita. Figuri interesante.
Craciun fericit si toate cele bune ! Sa vedem si niste poze cu bradul....

Nice shot and good POV, I can almost hear them play :-) I wonder what made you turn to B&W: the colors on the shirts and the colors of the instruments might have been quite attractive. Was it because you wanted to 'lose' the background?

Interesting to think about this ..marching musicians .. there is a huge "marching band" culture .. and it grows out of the turn of the century English military band tradition .. mainly brass and percussion .. the idea of marching strings would be unheard of .. my favorite is the violin player on the right .. who is out of step .. a capitol offense here .. it adds to the local and less formal (than a military band) flavor of this .. oh and you have really great control of these whites .. that must have been tough .. especially in this black and white setting .. great portrait and moment ..
