S疣dor Petőfi Square is located in the Romanian city of Sighisoara, in the center of the Transylvania region. It is a public space whose main figure is the monument to the most recognized Hungarian poet in history: Petőfi S疣dor. Born in 1823, S疣dor died in the Battle of Sighisoara fighting against the Imperial Russian Army after having written the revolutionary poet 哲emzeti Dal (哲ational Song in Hungarian language). Today, the figure of this poet is the national pride not only of Hungary, but also of Romania, Serbia and other neighboring nations.

On one side of the square is the Carpenters' Tower (or 典urnul Cizmarilor in Romanian language). This is one of the many towers dedicated to trades in the region that were built during the 16th century in Sighisoara and today constitute the main tourist attractions of the city.

From the center of the S疣dor Petőfi square there are three streets that go to the Sighisoara Castle; All of them are perfectly postcard-worthy, with low pastel-colored houses and numerous cafes and small restaurants that attract both locals and tourists who decide to stop here in the middle of a trip through intriguing Transylvania.
