C穩ța Monastery

These are the ruins of C穩ța Monastery (Mănăstirea C穩ța), located in the town of C穩ța in Transylvania. It is a former Cistercian monastery, which was founded in the early 13th century and abandoned about 300 years later. Nowadays its church is an Evangelical Lutheran church, which belongs to the local Saxon community.

Hej Lars,
Gr舖mattor, gravstenar och annat ger den h舐 bilden fint djup. Det 舐 inte mycket kvar av klostret, men kortv臠gen med runt fster och tillhande torn 舐 ansl蘰nde. H舐 har jag inte varit, och jag tror inte ens att jag ht talas om den h舐 platsen. ﾄr det kanske jaktplan fr蚣 Nato som har er h舐 i himlen?

a curious ruins. excellent this pov showing the big rose window (empty) and that curious timber room in the top of the tower. they used the space as a cemetery.

Hi Lars,
Truly beautiful place. The ruins are so unique with the part of the tower well preserved or restored. The tower seems wooden in part so probably it is restored but nevertheless it adds a nice touch to the ruins. Lovely cemetery in the foreground with the colorful flowers on each tomb, as if someone would remember very well the people in the tombs yet.
The sky was nice too with the plane trails adding some geometry, one of the lines passes well through the oval window.
Fantastic weather and colors, a lot of the structure is in shade but this angle was probably the most interesting and the main elements are well lit.
Excellent reportage, it makes me want to go to Romania.

Missed this interesting ruin in my few days in Sibiu. Good sharpness and perspective. The tombs inside the former church are unusual. Tfs!

These ruins are impressive even in this state. I googled the place I see that it is close to Sibiu (Hungarian: Nagyszeben). Next time I won't miss this place.

a relatively modern path and garden leading the way towards the old gate of the monastery ruins, than to the tower which remained intact. As usual, your immaculate details shown.
