Photographer's Note

The half timbered architecture of the early Saxon settlers in Romania is evident here. A side view of the art nouveau castle (Byzantine Celtic), which was commenced in 1899, & completed in 1903. It lacks the spectacular snow capped peaks as a backdrop to my earlier upload, but has better colour and lighting.

It's a very eye-catching building, but I get an impression that the architect was influenced by different styles. A perfect photo object in any case.

Hello Chris,
A great photo of this large houses with its many half-timbered fa軋des and also a very nice pattern of the roof tiles on top of the tower. The good and clear sunlight was perfect for the colours and details.

Hi Chris,
I have never been to Romania but TrekEarth taught me that there is so much o see there. Plenty of stylish castles like this one here with extraordinary design.
Great colors indeed, it feels a bit like autumn although I see it was the beginning of the spring.

Hi Chris,

This is a wonderful quirky building. It doesn't look art nouveau to me, more like something from 500 years ago. It certainly grabs your attention. It looks great in the sunlight.

what the heck is this? its a beast. So this Castle, what is it used for today? Can you go on a tour of its interior? I would love that. It looks like a hotel. what a great piece, its easy to see how people would either Love it or hate it. cheers
