Sibiu Lutheran Cathedral

This is one of the first photos I took in the city of Sibiu. It shows the Lutheran Cathedral in the city (German: Evangelische Stadtpfarrkirche in Hermannstadt, Romanian: Biserica Evanghelică din Sibiu). Sibiu is one of the most important cities of the Transylvanian Saxons, a German-speaking people, and the city is called Hermannstadt in German. This church belongs to the German-speaking church in Romania as well. The Gothic cathedral was built in the 14th century.

Hi Lars,it's a great perspective,imposing to see the cathedral till the top but with a view of old restaurant too,obviously my choice is a visit of restaurant and then the church..ehehe...very nice and original capture from the heart of old Sibiu,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Lars,
the Cathedral tower seem to be built from the foundation of an older edifice, which made by old red bricks. Good contrast from those bricks to the white painted walls. Fine outcome, as usual.

*** On the specific location on my latest photo, it is not a marina - merely each family own a boat or a yacht anchored at their backyard facing the inlet. (See the map, not a river). Thanks.

the top of the tower has nice details. curious the lower part mixing houses and the base of the church. excellent sample of local architecture.

This is a very pleasing photograph to study.
Your chosen viewpoint helps us to appreciate the different materials, the different styles and how each is closely related to the next. Though the restaurant and the cathedral have different purposes, they seem to have a close affinity.
As always, the details are sharp with fine, well saturated colours.

Splendid composition of the cathedral of Sibi�, you captured the best angle, it is very difficult to capture a somewhat general plan, since it is surrounded by buildings very close to it.
Excellent POV, with very good lighting, color and sharpness to enjoy the details.
