Photographer's Note

This is the second photo in a series of photos of children of Kosovo/Kosova that I am going to post over the next week. In 1999 Multinational Brigade (MNB) East reported that 30-40 houses burned in the predominately Serbian town of Zhiti/Zitinje due to the fighting of the war. This photo was taken 7 years later in this same town; and still remenants of the war can be seen all around. I'm not saying who was/is right or wrong; I just think it is sad for these children who have to and have grown up in these places of past destruction. As one of the boy's shirt says, "Rewind"- only if the lives of these children could be rewound and changed for the better.
In the WS I have posted two photos: one of the landscape dipicting burn't and bomb'd out houses, taken in 2006 and the other out in front of a MEDCAP (Medical Cooperative Assistance Program; also taken 2006) to help the locals.
