Photographer's Note

Liptovske Matiasovce is a village and municipality in Liptovsky Mikulas District in the Zilina Region of northern Slovakia. In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1416. The municipality lies at an altitude of 626 metres and covers an area of 5.733 kmｲ. It has a population of about 290 people.

Hello Piotr,
What a lovely church you have captured here with a beautiful flowered foreground and a great cloudy sky.
The viewer's eyes are drawn across the wheat and the lilies to the church rising proudly to the right of the frame, and finally to the BG mountains. Very good clarity and sharpness to this charming image. Really beautiful.

I recently travelled through central Slovakia and admired the beautiful sceneries. I didn't come to this village but you have captured its beauty very well with this composition. The red flowers and yellow grass provide a superb and eye-catching foreground and the attractive church is very well placed. The clouds are wonderfully shaped and you have managed very good contrasts.

Hello Piotr,

I will have to explore more of Slovakia when I go back in September. So far I have only spent time in Bratislava. Good sharpness and the colorful fg red flowers add depth and a pleasant warm cold color contrast with the blue sky. The double onion-domed tower at right makes an obvious focal point and is well placed on the 1/3 vertical axis. Tfs.

The ears of the corn and the poppy flowers flutter beautifully in the wind and provide a most attractive foreground.

Hello Piotr,

This is like the front of a card.
The scene is absolutely beautiful and you have added to its beauty by your fine composition; the church tower is perfectly placed and is nicely balanced by the adjacent trees. These are set at a pleasing angle against the backdrop of mountains. But it is the pretty f/g of gently nodding poppies and oat plants that are the most captivating!
